'Atomic' was Blondie's third single from the 1979 album 'Eat to the Beat' and just happens to be my favourite song EVER. Asking The Apple Scruffs to re-edit it was therefore very daunting, but, as I'm sure you will agree, Divers has create a magnificent version and has really done the track proud. We also strongly recommend you buy the original track if you haven't already.

One of the most influential late 80s recording for me constructed mainly from samples. Genius work and a lot of effort put in this translated in a Grammy nomination in 1989. 
I always wanted to prolong the main theme and turn down the testosterone on the samples so I can use it today in 2013. I have used a couple of loops from the original and then overdubbed everything else as well as recreating a few sampling parts from scratch.
Enjoy and keep the funk alive.

Dave Leatherman aka René van der Weijde is a music producer / DJ with his roots in the early 90's. He was partly responsible for the success on the early 90's stealth label (Rotterdam) with releases like TFX (Deep Inside Of Me), Trancemission (Keep this Party Slammin') Techno Grooves and Space Trax (Bounce). Later on he joined the Pegasus label and together with Lex van Coeverden he produced the 90's hit Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall which was a huge success in many countries. In 2010 he picked up on producing and DJ ing again. Currently producing tracks on the Ibiza based Golden Key label, which also brings him to Club Lio  - Ibiza for gigs in the summer season.
