Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes David Leckenby back to the label for his debut EP. The Australian artist fist appeared on the Polish imprint in October of last year with a contribution to the label’s ADE Sampler. His multi-layered infusion of deep, melodic and progressive sounds has also found a home on Droid9, Proton’s Particles and PHW Elements. Now following the release of his well received ‘Bubble Boy’ EP, David returns to Soundteller with ‘Coalesce’.

Spread across three tracks it’s the reflective moods of the title selection which leads the release off. Punchy beats and rolling bass unite for a powerful low end, while airy atmospheres and playful melodic fragments add nicely to it’s emotive nature. Smooth and meditative, cascading lines continue to elevate mood across the first act, taking the narrative into a tranquil break and ultimately sealing it’s nostalgic feel.

Rising to prominence in the latter half of the decade, music has been central to Dave Leck's life. With its "therapeutic and energizing" qualities, it has provided a spiritual sustenance to the Australian, while work signed to the likes of Consapevole Recordings, PHW Elements and Emotional Content Recordings has provided tangible success for Leck's endeavours. Returning to Particles after August 2019's "Stardust", "Primal Connection" is a typically multi-faceted offering with rich melodic layers pulsating gently against a backdrop of ticking hi-hats and heavy kick. A gloriously sustained bassline provides a spine-tingling melodic phrase and an arpeggio gently pans the left-right spectrum. Evolving gently through its swirling soundscapes, the result is a modern progressive gem. "Wanderlust" continues the strong bassline narrative of its EP partner while grooved stabs syncopate effortlessly against cool rhythmic percussion. A pitched vocal effect adds intrigue and a counterpoint melodic phrase sees Leck's production skill come to the fore alongside trademark textured pads.

An artist making a name for himself on an array of established independent labels, Dave Leck has been a shining light in the progressive house arena with his work for the likes of Emotional Content Recordings, Soundteller Records and Inception. August 2019's "Stardust" EP saw a Particles debut, swiftly followed by "Primal Connection" six months later, including remixes from Andrea Cassino and fellow countrymen, GMJ and Matter. Opening his latest offering, "Radius" is fuelled by a shaker-driven and groove-infused top line. Sumptuously syncopated chords provide instant dancefloor appeal as textured pads supply a relaxed vibe that develops into the breakdown. Picking up the pace once more in the second half, a shimmering arpeggio adds further to a blissful sonic collage. The title track sees "Elevate" continue the shaker driven percussive flair as arpeggiated synth layers and smooth pads create a wonderful sunlit opening. A glorious bassline adds emotion aplenty before a rolling breakbeat provides the perfect rhythmic anchor. Steadily evolving over the 12-minute timeframe, emotive piano motifs emerge and blend into the stripped back breakdown before combining with the other melodic layers to create a stunning and powerful track.

Kamilo Sanclemente requires little in the way of introduction. A talented producer based in Cali, southwest of the Bogotá capital, the Colombian artist has made a name for himself with music on Anjunadeep, JEE Productions and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Sanclemente's "Beyond the Future" series has been a notable highlight on Proton Music while 2017's "Revelations" and 2018's "Eva" made their mark on Particles with a combination of original tracks and outstanding remixes. Now returning after March 2021's remix of Izzet with Mauro Aguirre, the Kamilo Sanclemente reworking of "Elevate" is characterised by a thumping four-to-the-floor backdrop. Creating new arpeggiated sequences with melodic themes rooted in Leck's original, familiar piano motifs make their presence heard. A stunning new bass groove adds further while the remix opens up in the second half to create a storming club-friendly banger that entwines new harmonies and melodies with ease, creating a truly special interpretation.

A rapidly growing force, Eric Lune has continued to make waves since a 2018 debut for Sound Avenue. Going on to see his music feature on such esteemed imprints as Juicebox Music, Plattenbank and Flow Music, September 2020's "North to South" with Golan Zocher was an impressive Proton Music debut, while "Airbag" followed a year later and included a remix from the iconic figure of Bedrock's Nick Muir. Now making his Particles debut, the Eric Lune remix takes "Elevate" on a rich rhythmic voyage that delights with filtered chords that generate a beautiful sonic cadence of their own. Full of emotion, a glissando lead cuts through the mix at the mid-way point and into the breakdown before the rolling rhythmic pattern picks up the pace into the third movement to create an impressive remix that retains the character of Leck's original while transforming it into a new, brightly coloured sonic tapestry.

A pair of original tracks and remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente and Eric Lune have seen Dave Leck "Elevate" to new heights.

A returning artist to the Particles fold, Dave Leck opens 2024 with a brand-new track as "Opal" shines alongside remixes from Erdi Irmak and Izzet. Debuting on the label in August 2019, "Stardust" was the first of three original EPs that saw Dave Leck hit the ground running. "Primal Connection" followed in early 2020 before "Elevate" completed a trio of outstanding original releases in March 2022. Another two-year gap now sees "Opal" create a mesmerising percussive groove while trademark melodic phrasing sits elegantly above. Immaculately cadenced, open filters provide dancefloor vibrancy that waxes and wanes with subtle intensity. Pausing for breath at the mid-point, the track picks up the pace with a hypnotic arpeggio lighting up the second half atop elements built in earlier movements.
Refracted in multi-coloured arrays with remixes from Erdi Irmak and Izzet, Dave Leck has unearthed another jewel with his "Opal".
