Kicking it old school back to the wonder days of early House is Carloh, who makes his hit I'm A House Gangster debut with 'El Dembow'. Built around an infectious vocal, 'El Dembow' is cut together with a retro house groove, built out of a plethora of sampled beats and treats. There's a massive bag of remix flavors to be devoured from the IAHG crew, including NYC's DBow who works up a tasty dub armed with a fierce bassline and Jesse Perez gets whizzy with the old school jackin' beats and rave sirens transporting us back to the late 80's. Chief Papi Chulo himself, DJ Sneak, cuts in with hi–hats, smashing out the Jackin beats with a hefty peak time dub dressed with a wobbly atmospheric bass line. Also on the release is the Hip–Hop fused 'Fuertes Seres' that's riddled with scratching, breaks and moody vocal stabs and underpinned by a incessant siren to bring the tension to the floor.

Inspired by the actual sound of the House, my music was recorded in the garage of my home with old records, dad's samplers and old school music cassettes - with this concept I wanted to go back to the past. – Carloh

From an early age, Carloh Quito of Ecuador showed his love and passion for music and was greatly influenced by the musical style of South America - folklore and music of the Andes. He started looking to fuse pre-Columbian musical instruments of Ecuador and for the authenticity of the sounds originating in the native land. He was influenced by his uncle and father, who were both dj's and taught him to mix turntables whilst learning congas and bongos. He later traveled to Europe and fell in love with electronic music and the rest is history. Carloh went on to create his own Latin fused flavors of House, Tech House and Techno and winning fans all over the globe in the process.

[Saving the World from Bad Music]
The genesis of the TEKK DJZ came about in 2011, inspired by the track 'tekkz dj' by Teklife's DJ Rashad and Traxman's 'geto djz ghettotekkz we're taking over' track, out of the ashes of what was originally going to be called the G.E.T.O DJZ Allstars. After hearing that Rashad track, Traxman called Rashad and talked about the inspiration for launching his own crew. The first member into the fold was DJ Fred, then followed Crossfire and K-Locke during a DJ drafting (now of the the Prophecy DJz crew) then followed DJ Acey. Fastforward to current day - The TEKK DJZ are a worldwide organisation of renegade musicians, DJs and producers, ranging in all styles of dance music, all curated and brought together by Traxman.

I loved that house. I loved the people in it. LA was a hard city, and truth be told the first sign that I should have gotten sober.

Having made a debut on Mote-Evolver back in March, Finlandʼs Samuli Kemppi returns with another stunning EP of ultramodern techno on Luke Slaterʼs imprint. One of the key players in Finlandʼs techno scene, Samuli Kamppi reputation for making forward-thinking, boundary blurring electronic music that blends the best of the past with cutting edge sounds has seen Samuli appear on labels as diverse as Ovum, Siesta, Komisch, Prologue, Perc Trax and Octopus; illustrating perfectly why Samuliʼs style has consistently drawn attention from all corners.

Quantum Mechanicʼs leads off this four-track EP. Inspired by the abstract ambience of the late night / early morning club experience, this is a deeply hypnotic voyage through bubbling acid patterns and swaying string melodies.

Complex Numbers retains this feeling of meditative otherworldliness but ups the ante with a challenging arrangement of animated, complex percussive rhythms that run energetically over a solid foundation of throbbing low-frequency bass.

Luke Slater makes an appearance via his Planetary Assault Systems moniker; drawing out a tense and incendiary Dub Edit of Quantum Mechanics that evolves the original into a sparse, futuristic-sounding, acid-soaked mechanical haze.

Linear Function closes out the EP with a poignant yet impactful piece. Playing with the contrast between light and dark, the track transitions from iridescent melodies and ebbing strings to disorientating off-key harmonics and back again.
