Roberto Onofri, since he was a teenager, has developed his own culture independently. Whatever he liked to do, he immediately embodied it, instantly identifying with what he was passionate about.
However, one certainly cannot expect the sixteen-year-old and self-taught disc jockey to be ready as a composer for his first time in a recording studio. He became an author, arranger and performer shortly after, but for his first experience on vinyl he had to resort to a cover, as many did to get noticed and have the limelight on him.

There was no mistake in choosing 'Living with Passion'' by the Canadian band Moral Support, but only how to write the title of the piece on the album cover!!! At the time, not all Italian printers knew English well, which is why Italo Disco soon became sadly famous for the huge blunders that were written.

It was love at first sight for Roberto, who played the song written and produced by Richard Cranford and Sandro Durante every night in the disco. There were some imperfections due to inexperience, but the electronics, more and more imperious and overwhelming, won over everything, effectively decreeing the beginning of a new musical style. The Italian one.

Dave Mathmos did well to have the same passion as Onofri and his DJ Program Band, developing an excellent version that gave new life to the piece from 40 years ago, reprinted by Best Record in two different and limited editions, in black vinyl and in green vinyl with black shades. Both editions come out with the artwork and credits in relief and with the image of the very young DJ Onofri immortalized next to a drum kit with the microphone in his hand, ready as always to make people jump and have fun.

'The multi-faceted and multi-talented Alberto Melloni returns once more to Bordello A Parigi to unveil his musical multi-verse. “Lago Lungo”, the title piece, sets the tone for the quartet of tracks. Steady kicks thud next fizzing hi-hats as a rich and full-bodied piano melody takes hold, Melloni’s instrumentation creating sheer peaks and creamy amber plains. “Promised Land” offers a different audio topography. Key stabs are bolstered by incising beats as a late-night italo infused romp undulates from speaker cones. Underscoring the EP are influences from both disco and house, sun-kissed chords countered by textured percussion. These twin inspirations combine in the groove laden “Paradise Pie”. Clean notes are refracted in neon, undercurrents of acid lurking just below the vibrating hardwood floor. The mirrorball takes the limelight for the finale. Breathy, smokey vocals orbit funk dipped lines of “Only You”, warbling vocoders dancing under the glittering beams to the close.'

The remixes bring fresh perspectives to this already standout EP. Keep Me In The Light, the Scottish artist now based in Bangkok, delivers an ultra-catchy and acid-infused remix of Titan, blending nostalgic Italo Disco vibes with a modern Indie House edge.
Patricio Diaz, the French producer, brings a trance-inspired touch to his remix, packed with 90s energy and solid kicks, delivering a dancefloor weapon that’s impossible to resist.
Finally, Vhyce, the Portuguese-Italian producer based in Belgium, contributes a rich reinterpretation, weaving lush 303 basslines and classic Roland percussion into a soundscape that is both evocative and irresistibly groovy.

PREMIERE : Port Manteau - Titan (Keep Me In The Light Remix) (Epicure Records)

Beyond The Struttosphere blast back into orbit with the release of ‘Planet Ogo’ on Discolypso Recordings.

The title track is inspired by early progressive trance and fuses a driving chug bassline with a hypnotic 303 sequence, distorted robotic synth stabs and a trifecta of meandering arpeggiators, creating a wormhole through space and time. Thunderous power chords and nuanced percussion layering guide the track towards its cosmic void, echoed with mind-bending vocal samples from the cult sci-fi film ’12 Monkeys’, before a high-voltage crescendo transports you to Planet Ogo. 
Remixes are provided by two masters of the scene: South Korean cosmic disco royalty, Shubostar, applies her signature sound to the original, introducing playful synth melodies, kinetic arps and retro-futuristic pads that elevate its seismic breakdown into outer space. Spanish new wave maestro, K-Effect, provides a moodier and more psychedelic contribution, weaving in tripped-out FX, clinical drum arrangements and mercurial low-end synths that propel the tune towards its ominous conclusion.

‘Cosmic Stuntman’, the EP’s second offering, is intrepid and galactic as its name suggests. A track of two halves: the first a minimalist soundscape defined by groovy guitar riffs backed by energetic tambourines, cowbells and an array of spacey FX. The second opens up in throttle with the addition of a ferocious mid-range bass, cutting snares and cosmic pads that build in magnitude as the track reaches its spellbinding climax. 
Remix duties are provided by the legendary Dionigi, alumnus of the Italian ‘cosmic sound’ movement, whose take repurposes the track into a low-slung cosmic chugger complete with glitchy vocoders that resemble scrambled UFO transmissions.

Completing the package are two reinterpretations of ‘Storming Heaven’ which first appeared on Emerald & Doreen Recordings in 2023 and pays homage to Jay Steven’s eponymous book on LSD and the American dream. The UK’s godfather of chug Rich Lane isolates the original’s soaring guitar solo and reimagines the track into a mesmerising downtempo chugger, tinged with psychedelia, ideal for the ALFOS dancefloor. 
Argentinian producer Julian Sanza, resident of Bogotá’s Kaputt Club and member of Ralph Lawson’s seminal electronic outfit 2020 Soundsystem, delivers the second remix. His version cranks up the funk, reconfiguring the track as a Balearic sunset trip; a shimmering ending to this cosmic journey.

The EP concludes with a bonus remix package of hits from the BTS back catalogue. ‘Replicants’, originally released on French imprint Mélopée Records in 2021, is resurrected with two new remixes. Berlin-based electronic rock n’ roll band, the Tegel Boys, transform the track into a krautrock-infused kosmiche space odyssey, driven by bongo rhythms, perfect for tuned-in psychic travellers.

"Italo"/Australian , DJ/Producer & Remixer based in Australia, Dave Mathmos, began hitting the ground running in the music realm in the 80th, and since that time has manifested into a versatile and multifaceted artist with his own signature sound and stylization. Known for his widely authentic blend of genres like Disco, Funk, Soul, Deep House, Italo Disco and Nudisco, Dave’s journey into music began in the producer’s chair where he started tackling an array of productions with House & Deep House tracks, and quickly began solidifying a style that shares equal parts originality and familiarity, giving his audience a taste of something fresh yet still identifiable. 
 
After several years of honing his craft and putting together a solid chemistry in his musical approach, Dave’s name became more familiar throughout his scene and began garnering positive reception throughout his scene. Currently, he has been releasing music with several Australian and European labels, as well as DJing in both continental scenes as well. His most notable work has been his edits and remixes that include nostalgic songwriting arrangements, grooves, and an innovative modern style that has successfully expanded his artistic merit in contributing his important work for both the Australian and European markets.  
 
On top of remixes, he has been crafting together his own material as well, orientated to several modern touches to deep house, balearic and nudisco to the wide spectrum of electronic music.
