A Sunrays/Beach Boys demo song written by Murry Wilson, father of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.  Never published until it was released on the Sunrays' "Vintage Rays" For Collectors Only Boxed 3 CD set in 1996.  My brother, Steve Owen, worked with Murry Wilson on the original demo back in the early 70's, so it is only appropriate that his orchestration on this cut be recognized.  Dave Owen performed all the vocals and tracks.

Song cover completed in 2007 of Billy J. Kramer's minor hit from the British Invasion day, updated to a more modern sound.  All parts by Dave Owen.  Prominent 12-string guitars used to help recreate the British 60's sound and vibe.  Go on YouTube some time and compare it to the original.

It's Gotta Last Forever

This is a tune and production that I did for Tom Smith with Tom doing the lead vocal and Dave on backing harmony of the old Beatles tune "Norwegian Wood".  All background parts played by Dave Owen with the sitar part played on a guitar synthesizer.

Came across this from my old song archives done sometime in the eighties, I think, a cover of Elton John's "Love Song", off his Tumbleweed Connection album. Written by Lesley Duncan who sadly passed away in 2010.

Wrote this song with my now deceased friend, Terry Secrest, decades ago.  Now, I'm bringing it back to life.  New backing track by Dave Owen with guide vocal by Terry Secrest from the original demo years ago.  There will probably a new vocal by Dave Owen in the future.  This track has not been mastered, but the new version will be!

Dave Owen is a musician/recordist/songwriter who currently plays in two groups, "The Fabulous 52s" and "Blues Street Revival".  Having worked in music since the 60's, Dave continues to write, record and perform while embracing other interests such as videography and photography.  While influenced by any music that he finds good, several bands such as the Beatles, Byrds, Bacharach, Beach Boys, British Invasion and the American 60's counter attack, tend to stick out.  His musical palette is probably greater than most, so it is hard to pidgeonhole him into any category.  In short, he is influenced by anything around him.  On SoundCloud, some of his old songs dating back to the sixties as well as tunes that span to the present, will be presented.
