Microtrauma’s second release with Traum shows them at their best... they have taken a break to write this timeless "Mini Album" for Traum. The release kicks off with "Circulate", a piece of epic melodic techno that works in a highly artistic fashion. A skilful composition with lots of musical changes and last but not least a breathtaking arrangement!
Changing perspectives from melodic lush to forceful emotional outbreaks, its constant "up and down" makes this a rollercoaster of a track. And if you would want to use the word "Circulate" itself, you may as well describe the track in its peak as an "entrifugal emotional force"! Preview (128 - Mp3)

Marc Romboy's infectious, driving cut for Bedrock records Counting Comets is back with a fresh new remix by Berliner and Watergate resident Ruede Hagelstein. The original track – also released on Digweed's seminal label – was Romboy at his most uplifting, cosmic and grooving tech-house best.  
After igniting clubs worldwide, the dance-floor favourite, originally released in summer 2015, receives an updated sheen from Hagelstein (who recently remixed Namito and Brams 'YTO' on Romboy's Systematic Recordings) imprint), plus a brand new follow on cut from Romboy himself. 
Hagelstein's interpretation takes the listener on a journey through twisted and distorted tech house from the offset, with disintegrated, 8-bit beats lending the track a stomping groove. He roughed up the pristine edges of the original and lain down a thumping kick drum while distorted synth chords fluctuate between minor and major tones. 
Romboy offers listeners a fresh interpretation in 2016 with Part 2, his down-tempo mix of the original cut. Rising through a crescendoing swathe of atmospheric tones like a sunrise over a valley, it's beatless montage of ambient sounds and vast, rolling harmonics offer a calming and soothing beginning for this ten minute epic. Then, a growling, melodic bassline grounds the track with solid foundations as sprinkles of groove and heads-down atmosphere begin to unfold.

Abendpfauenauge (Smerinthus ocellata)
Das Abendpfauenauge verdankt seinen Namen der markanten Augenzeichnung auf den Hinterflügeln. Die rindenfarbenen Vorderflügel bieten eine perfekte Tarnung, wenn es tagsüber an Baumstämmen ruht. Bei einer Störung zieht es die Vorderflügel ruckartig nach oben. Der Falter gibt nun das Erscheinungsbild eines Gesichtes ab, das den Störenfried plötzlich anstarrt. Durch schaukelndes Vor- und Zurückbewegen des Körpers wird diese bedrohliche Wirkung noch verstärkt.

Eyed hawkmoth (Smerinthus ocellata)
The Eyed hawkmoth owes its name to the distinctive eye drawing on its hind wings. The bark-colored forewings provide perfect camouflage when resting on tree trunks during the day. In case of a disturbance, it pulls the forewings up jerkily. The moth now gives off the appearance of a face that suddenly stares at the troublemaker. Forward and backward swinging movements of the body intensify this threatening effect.


Oleanderschwärmer (Daphnis nerii)
Der Oleanderschwärmer ist mit seiner unglaublichen Farbenpracht ein Sinnbild tropischer Schönheit. Als Wanderfalter fliegt er selten auch in unsere Gefilde ein. Mit einer Spannweite von bis zu 13 Zentimetern ist er ein wahrer „Jumbo“. Sein Flugstil ähnelt dem von Kolibris. Er erreicht dabei Geschwindigkeiten von 50 km/h. Sein Saugrüssel, mit dem er an Blüten Nektar tankt, wird so lang wie sein Körper.

Oleander hawkmoth (Daphnis nerii)
With its incredible colors, the Oleander hawkmoth is a symbol of tropical beauty. It rarely flies into our fields as a migratory butterfly. With a wingspan of up to 13 centimeters, it is a true "Jumbo". Its flying style is similar to that of hummingbirds. It reaches speeds of up to 50 km/h. Its proboscis, the tubular mouthpart used for feeding on the nectar of flowers, becomes as long as its body.

Another new signing on Outside the Box is Alessandro Diga, seemingly having his roots in South America but actually just living in Amsterdam as Martijn van Dijk.

Alessandro's debut EP features three tracks that manage to cross boundaries and instantly caught our attention. Meltdown is a lush, beautiful tune that works its way around a central theme. Combining elements of techno and progressive house yet in a clever and minimalistic way, Meltdown is a definite winner.

That doesn't mean the other tunes on this EP are to be underestimated however. Diep In De Nacht is Dutch for Late at Night, and that is exactly when this one should be played. Big room techno action that will explode the dancefloor. To close off this EP, Qui-Vive is another excellent track that showcases Martijn's abilities to create repetitive but ever interesting grooves and melodies.
