Emmavie Mbongo is originally from London (London / United kingdom) and is an author, composer and performer.
 She has been a real fan of the works of Erykah Badu, D'Angelo and Fela Kuti since she was young.
 Her obsession for music growing bigger and bigger, Emmavie soon discovered that she could express the most complex parts of herself by writing songs and creating her beats.
She very quickly became known as one of the few English artists singing, writing and producing her own music with an unmistakably sensual signature.
This mix showcases her diverse talents as a singer and producer, and is concocted for us by Orion ( @orionanakaris ).

Shadow Songs - is a lament and a reckoning. It tells the story of a world so saturated in distraction, violence, and digital detachment that we no longer recognise darkness when it rises. Children die on screens, injustice scrolls past in silence, and the truth is buried beneath comfort and convenience. The song follows a narrator who refuses to look away, who hears the hum beneath the headlines, the quiet song of suffering we’ve all learned to ignore. Through bluesy cadence and prophetic rhythm, the track warns of the cost of collective silence and the weight of complicity. The darkness doesn't scream, it sings. And it sings in our name.

After featuring on Boyan's previous FBR release 'Atmosphere' it is a pleasure to release more late night harmonies from the soulful singer/ songwriter.

The Atlanta born singer decided to capitalize on the @IndabaMusic by reaching out to long time pianist and producer friend @Kailuntheman. The chemistry on this track shows the depth of their friendship as the instrumental was perfectly crafted for J-Ricans style.
