It was a very special warm night in Ibiza when we hosted OpenLab x Pikes Presents at 528 Ibiza

Ron Trent had just left an ecstatic crowd applauding in the amphitheatre so no pressure for Ralph Lawson opening up the club inside straight after!

Being a radio station we always like to record and stream when possible so the recorder was firmly in place to capture RL Live at 528 for the first ever time.

When GLADE GLASTO got in touch wanting a DJ to bridge the gap from dub into house straight after the one & only Prince Fatty at Glade Dome, I jumped at the chance to play as LOST IN DUB for the very first time. Dub has always been my first love and the inspirartiion behind pretty much everything I do as a DJ even though I’ve spent a lifetime in house music. So, if I’m going to stand up there at Glastonbury then it can only be done properly offering some respect to the roots.

Thanks to all the teachers and dub pioneers who really deserve the attention. It was a joy to drop selections from my musical heroes including Jah Shaka - forever remembered and the sound of my youth - alongside other greats including Mad Professor, Channel One, Manasseh, Prince Fatty, Kibir La Amlak, Alpha & Omega +++ before delving into some dub house & dub techno which could have run & run...

LOST IN DUB :: GLADE DOME :: GLASTONBURY 2025

After living in Vietnam for two and a half years, I've been missing Manchester a lot, so I took a break from producing the atmospheric, futuristic techno I'm vibing with at the moment and put together this four-and-a-half-hour mix of my favourite records to play in the city.

When selecting records for this, it was an explicit rule that I’d had memorable experiences playing them in Manchester, from my residency at Sankeys and other smaller venues across the city, like Joshua Brooks, Hidden, South, Deaf Institute, Sound Control, Subspace and more. I wanted to make sure the vibe was 100% something that would work on a MCR dancefloor; all DJs all agree there is a unique energy to Manchester crowds. 

I programmed the mix the way I felt a night should progress - starting with deep, slow records, gradually building into a peak moment with more intense and energetic tracks, before easing the energy into an emotional finish as the night fades. No sudden moves and dramatic mood/bpm shifts. For me, that always seems to be a magic formula, especially in Manchester in those times, witnessed from countless hours on both sides of the decks.

Genre-wise, it's made up of deep house, Chicago house, US house, some techno-y stuff, acid, anything I felt had 100% Manchester energy and enjoyed a good few moments with.

Full track list is in the comments, but to highlight some records with special memories for MCR, to begin, I choose the Mike Dunn record God Made Me Phunky, which is just a 1000% MCR classic track! Dionne – Back On The Planet never grows old; even listening right now it sounds brand new. I could be here all day with these to be honest, but also Jacob Korn – You & Me... damn, nostalgia levels 999 on that one. Armante – Love Me Or Leave Me (F.O.S. Underground Mix) used to get a lot of plays and always brought the peak time energy – dark evil organ slammer! I also played Theo Parrish - Heal Yourself And Move first track in every single warm up set, so that would have been over a hundred plays or something - I felt it gently warmed up the soundsystem ready for the later chaos.

Notable other records: Brothers Vibe – Can U Feel It?, Kikumoto Allstars – Last Train To Chi-Town, Rocky Jones - The Choice Of New Generation. Ah, damn, it’s all flooding back to me. Lastly, I have to shout out Music Freaks – Tribal Trance (Tribal Mix) as that is the record I played out the most (other than HYAM ofc) - the bassline used to sound so sick on the Sankeys basement Phazon system, and it had a lot of pressure for a slower track, so another one for the warm-up sets, listening to the track right now, it kind of doesn’t make sense on headphones. Definitely one to be experienced on a club system with 1250 Manchester heads two-stepping, red strip lights and a low ceiling.
