Let Angel Heredia be your guide as the ‘Take A Trip’ EP invites clubbers to catch some rays late in the calendar. The Spanish producer and DJ has taken his bag of beats across the country before letting the world in on his turntable secrets and style, only aligning himself with the best labels and reaping the rewards of A-list support as a result. Alongside his role as label A&R, Heredia is ready to roll again as a Clarisse artist, with the ‘Groovapaluzza’ and ‘Bang Bang’ EPs already in his back catalogue. 
 
With some garage-style skip in his step, Heredia only travels first class for ‘Take A Trip’. The bassline dip that runs throughout is killer, and the snatches of female vocal pleasure are at one with the sun and sea the track has packed its bag for. Throwing in some classic organ bass sounds as well for good measure and with Heredia temporarily getting a touch spikier on the breakdown, ‘Take A Trip’ has got that essential Clarisse holiday hotspot vibe to it. 
 
Featuring a sideshow of beats and pieces propping up a straightforwardly direct dose of the deep and funky, ‘Dozze’ invests in more low end melody, but one which steps like bare feet on hot poolside concrete. Sleekly going about its business, this 4x4 rollout is almost unaware of the percussive tricks, echoes, stutters, beatboxes and fine slivers of exotic vocals Heredia liberally sprinkles into the mix like he’s putting toppings on a huge scoop of ice cream. Crucially these are just the sort of techniques to catch your ear and convert your position to one of appreciation in front of the DJ booth. Release #111 is win-win-win.

The next release on Unnamed & Unknown brings in the new year with a bang as a collection of 10 brand new dancefloor heaters make up the NYE 2022 VA. 

Mad&Meis’ ‘Work For It’ opens the release with a pleasant swing. Loose and grooving drums combine with hooky sub-bass & delicate melodies that ebb and flow throughout the record. Layers of vocal chops help to build a continuously rising energy, perfectly matching its swaying percs. 

Doggo follows with ‘Right Now’, cutting a firmer line with a warehouse feel. Big weighty drum work dances with plucked bass notes and offbeat snares for a stomping groove, intercepted by vocal cuts and analogue synth injections. 

‘Funky Moon’ comes next, seeing Juampi Saillen take things in a different direction with percussive focused terrace vibes. Roaring sub-bass and rolling drums push into the deeper frequency ranges, whilst subtle harmonies fill the track in perfectly placed splashes. 

iicchigo’s ‘With You’ keeps the rolling tech vibe going strong, with tribal-inspired elements and squeaky clean drums. Building around a stirring female vocal and sultry melodies, its constant rising energy keep you in a daze as it modulates towards a pleasant peak. 

‘Wild Run’ is next up, with same.As keeping a firm foot on the gas. An upbeat Tech groover filled with driving components and attention-grabbing musicality. Primed for the peak-time dancefloors and wanting crowds, it will have you moving from start to finish.

Mondo’s ‘The One’ follows with more melodic-focused terrace vibes. Driven by weighty sub-bass and crisp percs, its injections of colour and vox cuts make it a perpetually enjoyable dancefloor-geared jam. 

‘Keep This Frequency Clear’ comes next as Dem Boyz deliver a quirky cut filled with outlandish samples and creative fills. Sub-bass drives the track forward as rippling percs & punchy drums add more movement to the mix, whilst vocal cuts add character throughout. 

FOLEY’s ‘Keep The Funk Alive’ does just that with jacking drums and deep harmonies. Smooth synths and rich percussion flood the track in between its dominant vocal presence - marrying up perfectly with its robust drum work and catchy bassline. 

‘Coffeebean’ dives deeper as Beatky carves out an analogue-rich minimalist jam. An array of punchy drums and subtle percussive layers make up its core, expanding into a tapestry of bright and colourful melodic components - a real toe-tapper!

Lucciano, Martin Bordacahar and MartinoResi combine on the final track of the release - ‘Sometimes In The Way’. A certified groover, building around a soulful female vocal and long sweeping bass notes, it’s a stripped-back terrace roller with unlimited amounts of flavour.

The ‘NYE 2022’ VA is out on 6th January 2022 on Unnamed & Unknown.

Paco Osuna's record label, Mindshake drops a percussive tech house release by David Lowe featuring Jenny C, which has sassy vocals and rolling basslines.

David Lowe is back on Mindshake after his label debut in 2024. It's another upbeat EP featuring three tracks, two of which are solo productions, and the third is a collaboration with Jenny C.

Opening with the EP's title track, "Sonic" has liquid textures and shuffling percussion intertwining with the namesake hip hop vocal sample.
