Davi Vieira's dynamic range of percussion styles have been sought out by Bebel Gilberto, Angelique Kidjo, Forro in the Dark, Wycleff Jean, Richard Bona, Carlos Santana, Maria De Barros and STOMP. A world class percussionist, Vocalist and dynamic leader in his own right, Vieira now surrounds himself with some of world music's finest Musicians creating a celebratory, hot, hip shaking music that fuses propulsive old school Axé and Repente with a new flavor of Brazilian Hip Hop.

Following in the footsteps of greats like Timbalada, Olodum and Gilberto Gil, on GHETTO LINHA 8, Davi approaches this musical legacy as both a Composer and Performer with a new Voice and a new sound he calls, "HIP HOP AXÉ".

All rhythms on this record are unique to his native Northern state of Bahia -while his vocal performances are a modern interpretation of Brazilian song styling via a New York Prism. As much a Rapper as a singer, Davi will inevitably be compared to Rappers like MV BILL and Marcello D2, but Davi possesses a distinctly unique voice and style born from being a Brazilian Musician living and creating in NYC.

This, his first solo record, was Produced and co-written by David "Duke Mushroom" Schommer, Producer and co-writer of the BBC Top of the World Nominated Ethiopian Crossover album, "BOLE 2 HARLEM". This is David's follow up production to that highly Lauded record.

As a percussionist and vocalist Davi has contributed to recordings and/or toured live with such great artists as Angelique Kidjo, Bebel Gilberto, Forro in the Dark, Richard Bona, Sun Ra, Wyclef Jean (new FUGEES cd), Yerba Buena, Baby Do Brazil, Deborah Blando, Vinicius Cantuaria, MAria De Barros Marchan, Patricia Marx, Muzenza, Tony Mola and Bragada, Me'Shell Ndege'Ocello, David Byrne and was co founder of Brazil's MD MCs ... Davi was also a performing member of the Off-Broadway show STOMP for ten years.

Davi currently leads and fronts a NYC based 6-8 piece band that supports the music recorded on this record, and is anxious to expand touring and take this new sound to the masses.
