I think this was the only cover tune we did back in my band days playing with my great friends Dyniss, Morris, and Alex. Here I take a turn at lead vocals with Dyniss on harmony. This is a ‘live’ version recorded in Dyniss’ studio (I believe in one take), though we performed it live on stage often.
Them wuz some good ol' times.

The one in the picture is a typical agricultural villa in northern Italy; I pass by it every morning on the bus, on my way to work. And I have photographed it a thousand times, trying to imagine a story (which began at least two centuries ago: hence the reference to 1823) that in reality nobody knows any more, because it has been uninhabited for a long time. So last year I sketched out some music (the usual draft: https://soundcloud.com/michele-ansani/1823a); it was really time to finish the job.

i am an electronic music maker, musicologist, and ex-dj. unless it's plunderphonics pieces or remixes/mashups (usually in a lo-fi vaporwave drag style) the music is 100% me outside of samples from shows and movies or other media sources, occasionally Shelley or Loren will lend their vocals to my tracks. 

my work with Shelley & Loren is often a hybrid of original music and AI, and not just auto-generated slop, we work a lot on the pieces regardless of whether AI was used or not. they are talented musicians in their own right, and sometimes the end results are magnificent, but we're always experimenting, and the results are sometimes rough... however, we do love damaged sounding recordings, record crackles, tape hiss, glitches, etc. and i am grateful they basically let me do what i want with the stuff they send me ☺️
