I think trying to make main characters flawless just cheapens a character. Grey areas make characterization more interesting. 

L3 being on the Falcon seems delibrate to explain C3PO's comment in ROTJ (IIRC) about the Falcon knowing strange ways to communicate.

Apparently the lighting is across the board bad due to varying projections

I imagine an Obi-wan movie to be like a version of Yojimbo where he's a ronin/gunhand who helps a Tatooine shanty town nearby

Not an excuse but: Thandie was pinned down and they needed to blow the tracks (for reasons I don't remember) and she sacrifices herself because as Beckett says later, they were working for Dryden who would kill ALL of them if they failed. I think that makes her sacrifice make some sense, but the audience knows none of this in the moment so its a real WTF

I think the reveal was like: "Look at her big eyes, look how human she is. Could this be an evil person?"

I thought that was meant as a joke, that they say he's stylish and stuff, and then they show him in this crackbar.

But why don't you watch Rogue 1 then? It's not about Jedi, it's cool, it's grimy.

Hard disagree! I think it's one of the best (except the first 20 minutes).
