David Bitonti has been writing and performing original music since shortly after picking up his first guitar at the age of 13. He was the lead singer and principal songwriter for the band Smart Bomb from 1999-2013. In late 2012, Bitonti rekindled an old love affair with the acoustic guitar and began writing a number of new songs that he is now sharing at local theatres, bars, and cafes all over Western Canada. He is equally happy performing his own material or popular covers from the 60’s to now, always catering to the crowd.

In the Spring of 2013, Bitonti released his first independent EP Wait 'til Dark—a collection of songs that showed his songwriting abilities had blossomed from the overdriven rock music of his youth. His new sound was dubbed as “grunge folk” that was a mixture of his favourite writers like Tom Petty, Neil Young, Matthew Good and Kurt Cobain. 2015 saw Bitonti releasing his first independent self-titled solo album. This was another collection of songs that drew upon his life experience dealing with themes of loss, addiction, mental illness and hope. Currently, Bitonti is writing new material for an album with a late 2017 release date.
