This composition was recorded in layers in the old electric plant at Dos Estrellas Gold Mine in Tlalpujahua, MICH, Mexico on 6/17/2021. You can sense the rich history of the location of the varied uses of the building over time. In 1937 a mudslide buried ⅓ of the town in a mining accident. The mine was still used into the 1960’s. Exploring the different time levels and uses of this building by recording a 3 layered composition where each musician inhabited a different part of the ruin of a building and then bring them together by interacting sonically and musically from the different time levels.

This sound journey weaves the natural soundscape of the Burning Man playa with the sacred releasing energies found during the 'Temple Burn'. I recorded these layers interacting with the soundscape, people, and sites as I watched the sunset and the temple slow set ablaze and return to ash. This is meant as healing gift to all who release loved ones during this ritual.

Twilight in Bend

Came across a sign for a Japanese garden when driving up to the old Roman fort. We pulled over and after a couple of wrong trails, came across a beautiful hill of stacked rocks and trees with stone steps. Didn't know if this was the spot, but we felt an energy there that called for us to record a song there.

Japanese Garden Meditation in a British Forest - Lake District, Cumbria, UK

I enjoyed a nice conversation with a couple who regularly vista the circle. They talked about how the different circles get their power (solstice, people, meditation) but the circle also needs to be re-energized. They shared a wine offering with me expressing there gratitude of how I was giving back to the circle and putting energy into it through music.

This was my favorite (and most powerful) visit to the area's stone circles. It may have been the energy from the people visiting or the power of the circle at sunset.

This circle is one of the oldest in England being constructed around 3200 BC.

Channeling your inner Om

As I am sitting in the gaden in Casana Rosa in Morelia, MICH, Mexico early in the morning thinking of the intention of this sound meditation for my mother's birthday, I realize I am surrounded by the sounds of the kitchen and the morning prep that goes in to the first meal of the day. I find it fitting hearing these sonidos de cocinar as I performed this meditation to all of the love that my mother and I have for cooking together. Te amo......and I hope this next year we share more love and cooking memories together. Please enjoy this gift from afar since we can't share this day together in person.

Flowing Gratitide

This sound meditation is dedicated to the my many communities that have supported me through this past year as I celebrate my 1 year anniversary of being diagnosed with epilepsy. Reaggregation is the third phase of Victor Turner's theory of "The Ritual Process" where the ritual subject incorporates elements from their journal through liminality (transitional phase). I celebrate that I have incorporated gratitudate for the communitas that I have formed with all of my different tribes in my life which have guided me through my liminality of the past year.
