It is time to discuss fundamentals. For his second appearance on Laut & Luise Constantijn Lange shows his interpretation of human mannerisms that contrast so much while being closely entangled. Able to deliver both pain and satisfaction alike, its apparent simplicty may deliver the purest bliss while the complexity of its impact can at times feel devestating: Power & Love. For the first part of this pair Onosizo stands by to passionately proclaim and address the true nature and dangers of power. In contrast the second part of this EP is a musical dedication to all the light hearted and emphatic moments, a chance to brighten up and an invitation to feel untroubled, if only for a few minutes. In June 2011 the house producer Marek Hemmann and the Singer Fabian Reichelt released their first album to the masses on Freude Am Tanzen. Only Our Hearts to Lose was one of the first markers on the way these two were headed they began with the street-sweeper single "Left/Right": the synthesis of pop and club, the melting of Marek Hemmanns singularly fine austere tech house and Fabian Reichelts lyrics. The results couldn't be disputed and even more appreciated, yet still not quite every techno fan could quite feel this flyer from their favorite DJ in strange (quite pop) clothes. Perhaps not everyone trusts themselves to just say to themselves: bring the pathos, the feelings and the melting voice because it just has to be! At the same time in the club context, because as they both are of the opinion that there is the most thrilling place for modern songwriting. Where else can you find the fundamentally excited and music loving bunch in one place? Where else can an artist drop his 'hurray' atom-bomb on the masses and drop it on the one? Thus, 'Only Our Hearts To Lose' presents a shimmering, beautiful being in the club and the balcony, between a tender sunset and the deepest part of the nights dance. 

Im Juni 2011 brachten der Houseproduzent Marek Hemmann und der Sänger Fabian Reichelt bei Freude Am Tanzen in Jena ihr erstes gemeinsames Album auf den Markt. Only Our Hearts To Lose war ein erster dicker Markstein auf dem Weg, den beide im Jahr zuvor mit der Straßenfeger-Single „Left / Right“ begonnen hatten: die Synthese aus Pop und Club, die Verschmelzung von Marek Hemmanns markantem, fein austarierten Tech House und Fabian Reichelts lyrischer Stimme. Das Ergebnis war nicht unumstritten, noch immer goutiert nicht jeder Technofan die Ausflüge seines/ihres Herzens-DJ in fremde (noch dazu eher poppige) Gefilde. Aber vielleicht traut sich auch einfach noch nicht jeder, einmal ganz freien Herzens zu sagen: Ja, bitte, her mit dem Pathos, her mit dem großen Gefühl und dem Schmelz in der Stimme, denn das muss einmal sein! Auch und gerade im Clubkontext, denn das, so sagten beide, sei ja schließlich der spannendste Ort für modernes Songwriting, wo sonst findet man so viele grundbegeisterte und musikliebende Menschen auf einem Haufen, und wo sonst kann man als Künstler alle seine Hurra-Atome so gewaltig mit der Masse zum Gleichklang bringen. So ist Only Our Hearts To Lose ein schönes, schillerndes Wesen zwischen Club und Balkon, zwischen zartem Sonnenaufgang und tiefster Tanznacht.

Every scene has its hypes that come and go; hypes that rise to a euphoric zenith, only to fall once they reach a state of supersaturation. The perfect substrate for this is the esoterically charged club culture of Techno-Mekka-Berlin which threatens to blow at any moment. However, every climax refers to a golden mean. We may not always recognise this constant at first sight, but it is undeniably the basis for everything that Berlin ever brought forth.
David Dorad is part of this basis. He is one of the characters that have kept the scene very much alive in the past decades. Born and raised in Halle, he came to the capital city after the reunification as a squatter in 1994 and began DJing. After having foraged through all facets of contemporary music with youthful zest, he commenced to play his first gigs. In 2004 he founded the party collective „Bachstelzen“ with friends. The great attention to detail and homely atmosphere of their events extended their name well beyond the city limits. For some years now, they have been a constant at the Fusion Festival, too. And wherever the Bachstelzen showed up, the Bar25 was never far behind. At first David Dorad
was a guest here, then a DJ and soon a valued friend. Ultimately the in-house booking agency of Bar25 (nowadays known as SASOMObookings) offered him a home base. By now he plays every weekend. And not just within German borders! He‘s well underway in expanding his international status. David is what we would call a charismatic thoroughbred DJ, far from being the business type. You won’t find any Twitter messages or pictures of his cat online. He is so very Berlin: down-to-earth and versatile. When he plays a set, his wish is for everyone to enjoy themselves, regardless of wether they‘re Hippy, Yuppie or Punk. Be it techno, deep or funky; he won‘t submit to any musical dictate within a given scene and prefers to take on the long afterhour shifts. These are most ideal for weaving a soft but vivid
soundscape whose colours are characterised by the season, the setting or the crowd. His harmonious sets are packed with honest energy and don‘t shy away from knocking forth a sassy electronic version of the Berliner tongue. Sometimes a bit cheeky or brash, but always meaning well. He determines this diction by aptly intertwining well-tried classics with new, carefully chosen records, weaving away, until the bigger picture reveals itself to his listeners. It‘s as if his magic hand commands the art of splitting synapses and rejoining them as desired. That would put him ahead of most brain surgeons! David doesn‘t bask in the past or in the future; he‘s a man of the moment. And this moment
he gladly lets drift.
