Un soir d’été, je me promenais
Il avait plu légèrement
Tout près de l’étang que je longeais
S’exhalaient des parfums enivrants

Un bouquet d’asphodèles frissonnaient
Sous les ailes des libellules
Une famille écureuils dinaît
Sur le gazon au crépuscule

Je marchais, mais marchais-je vraiment ?
Mes pas pleuraient miséricorde
Celle que seul le futur attend
Quand le vague à l’âme déborde

Où allais-je cet été ?
Que fuyais-je ? Que chercher ?
Questions ô combien futiles
Quand le soir nous démaquille

… je vibrais
… j’entendais
Une brise à mes oreilles
Comme une amie donne un conseil :

« Si tu dois sortir de ta maison
Pour te promener dans le soir
C’est que tu crois que vers l’horizon
Ta vie sera moins dérisoire





Si les nuages ont besoin de brise
C’est pour retrouver leur jeunesse
Et les voiles des bateaux se disent

Même l’eau de l’étang ondulait

Prêtes aussi à s’envoler

Evening stroll

 
One summer evening, I was walking
It had rained lightly
Near the pond I was walking along
Intoxicating perfumes were exhaled

A bouquet of asphodels shivered
Under the wings of dragonflies
A family of squirrels dined
On the lawn at dusk

I was walking, but was I really walking?
My steps were crying for mercy
The one that only the future awaits
When the blues overflow

Where was I going this summer?
What was I running from? What to look for?
Questions so futile
When the evening removes our make-up

... I was vibrating
... I heard
A breeze in my ears
As a friend gives advice:

"If you must leave your house
To walk in the evening
It’s that you believe that towards the horizon 
Your life will be less paltry

If the clouds need a breeze
It is to find their youth
And the sails of the boats say
Let's enjoy this caress".

Even the water of the pond undulated
Like the waves of the sea 
Ready to take off too
To accompany my journey


There are uncertain evenings
When you’re mabybe a flower 
A carpet of water, perhaps human
In all our senses that touch each other

... that merge
... answer each other
And suddenly, we are nothing
But a spot at the end of a path

J’ai vu ce matin
Un papillon
Dans mon jardin
Qui tournait en rond
Pauvre Arlequin
Plein de chagrin

Il semblait perdu
Abandonné
Ne sachant plus
Ni comment voler
Léger fétu
Ni se sauver

Alors, n’y pouvant plus
Je lui ai demandé
Quelle déconvenue
Semblait ainsi l’assommer

Voilà qu’il répond :
« Pour un papillon
Un chagrin d’amour
C’est bien trop lourd ! »

J’ai vu dans ses yeux
L’humidité
D’un jour pluvieux
Je n’ai pas trouvé
De mots soyeux
Pour consoler

Et nous sommes restés
Comme de vieux amis
Sachant que trop parler
Gêne le temps qui s’enfuit

Les fleurs du jardin
Sentaient si bon
Que leurs parfums
Exhalaient les sons
Si cristallins
D’un musicien…

Quand je suis rentré
Dans ma maison
Qui titubait
Un miroir brouillon
Aux yeux cernés
Me dessinait
Tournant en rond
Tout mon passé

The drunken butterfly
 
I saw this morning
A butterfly
In my garden
Going around in circles
Poor Harlequin
Full of sorrow

He seemed lost
Abandoned
No longer knowing
Nor how to fly
Light haze
Or run away

So, no longer able to
I asked him
What a disappointment
Seemed to knock him out

Now he says:
"For a butterfly
A heartache
It’s way too heavy! "

I saw in his eyes
Humidity
Of a rainy day
I couldn’t find
Silky words
To comfort

And we stayed
Like old friends
Knowing that talking too much
Stops the time flowing away

Flowers in the garden
Smelled so good
That their perfumes
Exhaled the sounds
So crystalline
From a musician ...

When I returned
To my house
That staggered
A messy mirror
With dark circles
Was drawing me
Turning in circles
All my past
