I always love it when my good friend and bandmate Pat Howell sends me his latest mandolin musing, this time with his Octave.  His musing becomes my "muse" and the ideas start to flow, this time using two mandolins and two guitars. I wanted to give you something tangible, solid poetry to hold.  Not to make it right, only to let you know.  You left me to tend to my heart, now it’s broken, I’ve fallen apart.  Missing you, kissing you, in my mind.  Dreaming of a love that died as I reach for the paper to dry my eyes.  I don’t remember the last time I felt this worthless.  It’s alright to be alone. This track has quite a story. The basic playback piano, synths and drums have been composed and pre-produced by OESJ (Ralf Wadephul + Peter Pasch) and sent to me to work out some guitars. The whole music was intended as a vocal track with a female singer. 

Before I really started to work with the song I played a bit with the core of the song, and made a whole new story out of it, adding guitar layers and also sung on it. Lacking lyrics I used the lyrics of 'Der König von Thule' Gretechen sung in Goethes "Faust" ...
Of course this version was never meant to be published and was just an 'Outtake' on my harddisk. Untill the other day, where I asked the OESJ guys for the permission to publish it as an kinda 'cover version' of the song ... :)
