2014 is going to be a year to remember for the Dutch DJ and his fans. Within the course of 6 weeks, he’ll celebrate the 650th episode of the A State of Trance radio show with no less than 9 events in cities all across the globe. Guru Recordings revisit Lucky Date & Gregori Klosman’s summer hit “Evolution” with a new remix from hotly tipped Danish producer, Toby Green. Available as a free download, the deep and hypnotic remix twists the pair’s original into brand new territory whilst keeping it’s dancefloor-focused attitude.
Although pacey from the start, the remix sets off in a deep and restrained fashion with a fluid bassline and jacking beats providing the backbone initially. But before being allowed to settle into the hypnotic groove, futuristic FX and firing synths begin to ignite and create a crazy, hedonistic soundscape. As the tension becomes too much, the remix spills over into unadulterated explosive house complete with floor shaking basslines, churning beats, rapid rhythms and shouted vocals. Merging highly energized elements of house, techno, electro and EDM, it is an intoxicating melting pot of styles that gives a snapshot of the health of modern electronic music.

Closing out the summer season is always an important job for a Sosumi signing, and this year does not disappoint with a massive track courtesy of Matt Nash & Felix Leiter ‘Heartbeats’.
A pillar of label boss Kryder’s tour performances, the track has been picked up by the likes of Steve Angello and Deniz Koyu and has been constantly gaining momentum amongst the scene with plays at Tomorrowland (BEL), Mysteryland (NL) and Creamfields (UK) to name a few.

The track itself begins calmly, but as the vocal, “Your heartbeat’s racing” kicks in with a direct reference to the tempo of the track, the beat comes alive with a thumping kick and accompanying lead which together makes for another peak time weapon courtesy of Sosumi Records.

Showtek are back kick starting 2013 with the bass charged Beatport #2 ranking monster Slow Down, and all-out high-octane jump house anthem Crunk. 

‘Crunk’ and ‘Slow Down’ are masterworks in varied and skilled production. ‘Crunk’ is an all-out high-octane jump house anthem and ‘Slow Down’ a heavy progressive track with a trance inspired melody. Both are so fully charged with filthy bass, piercing synths and huge vocals that they will have you cranking up the speed dial until you blow your speakers!

Never a pair to be tied down into any one field, these two mammoth records marks their musical transition and continued journey through the world of electronic dance music.
