Magician On Duty proudly presents Losers Arcade, the mesmerizing new EP from NUVM (@nuvemduo), a live electronic duo whose evocative blend of darkness and beauty has been quietly reshaping the contours of the underground scene.

Formed in 2022 by Maya Gonçalves (FR/PT) and Dario Esposito (IT), NUVM has been traversing Europe’s creative hubs—France, Italy, and Germany—collecting fragments of emotion, rhythm, and texture to craft a sound that moves fluidly between dancefloor melancholy and dark indie dance. Their music merges somber synths, pulsing basslines, and ethereal vocals, weaving intimate narratives that feel both cinematic and visceral.

Their latest offering, Losers Arcade, unfolds like a nocturnal odyssey through shadow and light. The title track welcomes listeners into a dark, hypnotic atmosphere—a dimly lit club where haunting vocals echo among writhing silhouettes, carried by monumental synths and a magnetic sense of tension.

The journey continues with 13, a ritualistic, dark disco invocation. Driven by wild percussions and a spellbinding groove, the track conjures an almost supernatural energy—whispers of witchcraft layered atop a hypnotic bassline, inviting the listener to surrender to its mysterious rhythm.

Lui Mafuta presents This Ain’t Jazz, a boundary-pushing new EP that fuses live musicianship
with electronic sensibility—an exploration of jazz influence through a deeply personal and
collaborative lens. 
The release is available on digital platforms and as a limited vinyl edition.
At the heart of This Ain’t Jazz is a long-gestating idea: to bridge electronic music with an
organic, band - oriented aesthetic. 

Lui Mafuta reunited with four longtime friends and collaborators - Paul Janoschka, Felix Roos, Jonas Esser, and Benedikt Jäckle - who all studied music together in Mannheim before scattering across the globe. Under the loose collective named Weiller, they came together once again to create a sound that lives between genres.

The EP is a globe-spanning production. Piano was recorded on Paul Janoschka’s Steinway in his Frankfurt apartment; trumpet and clarinet were tracked in a rural French studio with Felix Roos; drums came from New York via Jonas Esser; and saxophone was laid down in Lui’s own studio in Mannheim alongside Benedikt Jäckle. All elements were finally assembled and shaped into a cohesive vision back in Mannheim.

“There’s less synth work on this one than usual,” Lui says. “Most of the textures come from the instruments themselves and a lot of sample mangling. I wanted it to feel raw, human, and alive.”

Despite its title, This Ain’t Jazz is a love letter to jazz’s influence. “I called it that just to be safe,” Lui jokes. “It isn’t jazz—but it’s coming from that space.” The project also serves as a reconnection to his roots: two of the four featured musicians are teenage friends from his earliest days making music.

💭 Disko Dusk sparks the fun of partying. It’s a vibe that already begins at the preparty with friends: the first bottle of sparkling wine is opened and the music gets louder. The mood is carefree, the laughter captivating. The anticipation is almost as beautiful as the event itself. Even the walk to the club becomes an event of its own a little ritual of joy, friendship and celebration.

🎵 The remix of Disko Dusk by Ben Marek is clearly influenced by the original. It captures the hit character of the track and transforms it into a shining version with a strong and clear mid-bass. The lead and melody are as catchy as ever, spreading pure good vibes and happiness all around. Thank you for the music and the energy it brings ♥️
