To close the 2014 release roster for our imprint we bring to you ‘Origins’ in its first installment. 

Origins is a newly conceived label project that will revisit some of our artist and compile our favorite productions by them and incorporating some of their latest work. For our Volume 1 it was only fitting that we start with Jorick Croes, one of the original founding members of this imprint and after a hiatus returned to active roster as of this past Autumn. 

Jorick has been instrumental in helping shape the sound print in the early days of most of our imprints namely Liquid Grooves, Aquasound, and of course Drops and this is just a sonic snapshot of his journey with us.

It’s an introspective voyage that captures both heartbreak and renewal, all underpinned by the warmth of his signature mid-tempo groove.

A familiar presence across the European underground circuit, Wilson.solidarity has performed at festivals and venues such as Wonderland Festival, SKALAR Festival, Hoppocalypse at Renate (Berlin), and Aktion gegen Rassismus — as well as appearances across Sri Lanka and Indonesia, reflecting his truly global artistic spirit.

With this Journey Series episode, Wilson.solidarity invites listeners to travel through the many shades of love — from loss to rediscovery — through the universal language of sound.

Heute möchte ich euch mit einem Geburtstags-Set der Hamburger Künstler Benjamin Lorenz und Christian Kuhlmann überraschen … die Beiden bilden zusammen das Duo вᄂᄃк. 

Zum ersten Mal sind mir die Zwei mit Ihrem Set  „waiting for südpol-sunday“ aufgefallen, dass sie eigentlich nur mal so aus einer Laune des Wartens heraus aufgenommen hatten. Das Set hat aber dann soviel Anklang gefunden das daraus Projekt вᄂᄃкentstand. Ihr Sound ist Downtempo der etwas anderen Art … deep, düster, groovy und immer mit dem Hang extrem unter die Haut zu gehen. Man merkt ihrem Sound auch extrem an, dass Beide eigentlich ihre Wurzeln im Techno haben. Mit diversen Gigs unter anderem bei „something slow“ im Beate Uwe, 3000Grad on Tour oder in ihrem Berliner Lieblings-Club begeistern die Beiden Ihre Hörer im Übermaß.

Mit Benni hat sich auch mittlerweile eine schöne Freundschaft ergeben und ich bekomme von Ihm immer wieder gute Tipps zu Set und Künstler die ich sonst nicht so schnell entdeckt hätte. 

Benni und Christian nochmals alles Gute zu eurem 25/27 Geburtstag und viele Dank das ich eure Geburtstagüberraschung präsentieren darf. 

Und nun viel Spaß bei diesem deepen Meisterwerk.
