We’re happy to announce Stavroz’s first EP on Moodfamily: 'Silent Spring'. Having already released on labels such as Bedrock, Wired and Délicieuse Musique, the Belgian band is ready for their highly anticipated follow up, delivering an EP ready for sunscreen and ripe for the picking. 

In the title track, frivolous bass guitars accompany a broadly shouldered melody and gently carry the track to glory while a snug piano hides in the breaks, building a beautiful contrast. 'A Great Day to Fly a Kite' brings horns straight from miles high, happily intertwining with a ruthless groove, pushing the atmosphere and delivering a quirky impact on the dance floor. 'Should've brought an Umbrella' graciously closes the EP with a touching - and at the same time organic sound.

This bundle of joy is available in download stores worldwide on April 30th 2015.

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Goodbye 2017, hello future! Monaberry proudly present their final release of the year with the one and only Upercent. New to the label but no stranger to our record collections, the Valencian artist has made a name for himself over the last few years on labels such as Diynamic, UponYou, Snatch!, Sincopat and Culprit among others with a spell-binding sound that’s consistently rich in emotion and hypnotically heavy in weight… A sound that fits the Halle house label perfectly.

Proof is in the listening; ‘Fastic’ is an eight minute mystical movement that ripples with layers and dynamics. The shimmering percussion, the bluesy guitar twangs, the far-away vocal yearns, the gentle enveloping ebbs and flows with elements of tribal, tech and prog and fat dollops of cosmicity.

‘Badarra’ flips the groove coin with a much denser bass/kick relationship. Palpitating, pumping and progressively developing momentum element by element, key transition points include the molten chimes, the scattering percussion, the strange humanisations and the black hole breakdown that sucks deep deep deep into the silence before catapulting you back into the insistent pumps and added Spanish strums. Weighing in at almost nine minutes, once again it’s an open and shut case of full immersion. And Monaberry wouldn’t have it any other way.

What a way to sign out for another exciting year in music. See you in the future…

About the EP :
When we received Pavel and Alexandra's track „Waterfall", we knew quite quickly, this would become the first family work of a release. As the debut of a singer on Nie Wieder Schlafen, a good chunk of the family was very excited to take on the Original and turn it into a personal adventure. With more remixes following up next year, we are utterly happy to introduce you to an all new part of the crew, who've been with us for quite a while now. 
Stunning and diverse Remixes for Part I come from LADS (the collaboration between our longtime favourite Luc Angenehm and Gary Pilz), London based MockBeat and Sheffields biggest new talent, Yarni.

Pavel and Alexandra's vision for the Original was to lay focus on the vocals with minimalistic percussion, arranged in such an effective way, that the production has huge spaces for the atmosphere to pan out and let the vocals shine in their most purest form. The accompanying piano pattern will instantly burn itself into your mind and has no plan to leave anytime soon.

MockBeat proves a lot with his remix here, showing what other styles he can pull off, while staying true to his specific synth use. His version results in a rather intimate, calm and dreamy intro building up more tension as the track moves a long to the final peak, where more of his style-characteristics make themselves noticeable. Filled with details and lovely fiedrecordings of Heartbeats and more – MockBeat gives the originnal a wonderful upgrade, while mainntaining the focus on the vocals, setting the bar high for the rest of the family.

The groove experimentalists and new project LADS have decided against the obvious and made the vocals work to their interpretation, instead of strictly building it the other way around. Their remix keeps the focus on the rhythm, while adding pace-changing elements to the Originals key elements, truly givinng the whole atmosphere a striking new spin. As expected, a lot of work went into detailed sound engineering, like re-pitching, distorting and though out groove arrangements, with lovely organic elements. As the track moves along, un-settling melodies creep along to further build an atmosphere that keeps the listeners invested and on his toes at all times.

Sheffield's new talent Yarni surprised us with a personal remix of „Waterfall" – With influences from his recently released edit of Orbital's „Belfast" – another UK flavoured atmosphere touches down and combines quite beautifully with Alexandra's Vocals. While the pianos were left behind, stunning basslines lead the track and open up wide for a perfect climax, that feels unforgiving, while still giving all other elements a chance to shine.

An astonishing and abstract Cover Art by Giulia Gallizzi complements the included music with a leaf slightly touching the water.

💿New single ‘Magdalena’ is now streaming everywhere! A semi-minimalist exploration of the clubby night times, this tune has been a staple of our live set for the past year now. Ghostly declarations of intangible internet love, remaining grounded by the all-too-familiar beckon of a bassline.

Our favourite west coast space rock band "Woolfy vs. Projections", or "the Hall and Oates of the dance world" (XLR8R) are back for good. "Set Me Loose" is the first single from their 2012 album "The Return Of Love" , which with its proper songwriting, dreamy atmosphere and psychedelic character became an essential listening delight for all kind of Balearic types over the past summer. "Set Me Loose" is the perfect example for W vs. P unique blend of electronic and acoustic instrumentation and the natural haziness that lives in their music. This makes it a perfect match for Swiss legend Lexx (you have to check out his contribution to the ' originals ' series on Claremont 56), who offers the first remix here. Lexx does what Lexx does best adding a good portion of Excotica, tropical drumming and a certain dubbyness to the original making it a winner on the late night floor. 

The Drifter, who had a busy year with setting up his own label Maeve, which he runs with his lads Mano Le Tough and Baikal and with releasing his debut ep on Permanent Vacation in late 2012, comes correct with a hypno house version of "Set Me Loose". He leaves out most of the original's Balearic feeling and adds a punchy kick and an acidy bassline to get it in shape for the more housy floors. 

Last but not least in this delicate triumvirate of remixes is El_Txef_A from Bilbao, Spain. Aitor Etxebarria turned quite some heads with his last year's debut album "slow dancing in a burning room" and the mixture of contemporary club music and classic pop elements. He stays close to the original, stripping it down to the basic elements of the groove and the vocals before half way through of the remix an arpeggiated synth appears and introduces the 4/4 bass drum for the second half.
