The latest installment in our free download series welcomes Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada with their much requested take on Depeche Mode’s ‘The Things You Said’. As frequent studio partners since remixing Upercent’s ‘Pulsacions’ in 2017, Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada have become one of the progressive scene’s most beloved production teams. The duo have built a strong synergy over what has been a six-year creative swell, showcasing their original material on Nick’s The Soundgarden imprint, while also recording a string of impressive remixes for DAYS like NIGHTS, Get Physical, Proton Music and many more trendsetting imprints. Always looking for new avenues to test their creative chops, the duo took to re-imagining Depeche Mode’s ‘The Things You Said’ earlier this year. Released in 1987 as part of the band’s ‘Music for the Masses’, an album widely regarded to encompass the best styles from both ‘Black Celebration’ and ‘Violator’, ‘The Things You Said’ has stood the test of time and remains a high point on the seminal and much loved long-player. Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada have combined their extensive forces once again, knocking out a near nine-minute epic rendition which has not only been a staple in Nick’s recent sets, but also finds the duo landing more additive ever. Musically and emotionally, Superpitcher’s third full-length studio album, The Golden Ravedays is a one sound autobiography that exhibits the skill, feeling and style that the artist has honed over a period of twenty years, musically, and forty-plus- years, emotionally. And full-length it is: The Golden Ravedays is an epic album of 24 longer than usual tracks that was released in January 2017 and is stretching over 12 respective chapter albums during a one-year period.

The 11th edition of The Golden Ravedays album will be released on Hippie Dance in November 2017. Side A brings Brothers. With two decades of spinning experience in disco’s, nightclubs, festival arenas, shady after-party zones and intimate studio soirees there is no doubt that Superpitcher is seasoned in throwing a damn good party. Brothers is party personified and a celebration of the night and the wise owls that respect its magical rituals. Its ultra-chic disco groove and dreamy female vocals transport one to a carnival of blessings.

Side B features Sleepy Head, a hypnotic lullaby carefully tucked away in a hammock that rocks to and fro like dozing mermaids in a wavy curtain of seaweed. Sleepy Head is a smart artistic statement and whimsical pause just before the release of the grand finale of the The Golden Ravedays saga.

'Falun' is more upbeat in nature and takes the atmosphere in a new exciting direction but still retains a smokey feel throughout. Introduced with intangible vocal loops and the occasional horn stab, the song sets the mood for a more summery endeavour.
In the breakdown a lazy piano arrangement provides the lethargic atmosphere where an echoey horn emerges from beneath.
