Audio here is an excerpt from 22-hours long radio show and part of sound installation at Sanatorium Dźwieku/Sanatory of Sound (together with Zofia Kuligowska).

Major Arcana of Fungi is an action inspired by radical mycology. Here, each Tarot’s Major Arcana card is represented by a species of fungi or refers to a phenomenon from the fungi world.

The participating artists were asked to interpret a Tarot card they drew or chose from the pack in sound form. This could be related to the fungal body and/or their personal impression of the given symbol or archetype. They could refer to the EDAPHONE: the sound of life underneath forest litter as it grows fluidifies and decomposes into smaller, essential parts through hyphae, microchannels, and branches. Or they could offer initiation into personal secrets, experiences, or intuitions.
‘‘I am here as a product of the connection and collaboration of many others’’ - refering to the underground imaginary, to the mycelium as a network of neural connections that create ever-changing, learning membranes - each card can also be interpreted as an emanation of this great field of interrelations.

Next on our mixtape series is Bersarin Quartett, the solo project of German electronic musician Thomas Bücker, with a delicate selection ranging from film scores, to gaming, and ambient tracks.

Working within the realms of modern classical and ambient music, Bücker has garnered acclaim for his contributions as Bersarin Quartett (which he has been running for over 15 years), notably through his publications with Denovali Records. Bersarin Quartett's sonic landscapes are distinguished by a fusion of atmospheric textures, electronic nuances, and classical instrumentation, crafting a singular and emotive auditory journey. Bücker's oeuvre has earned widespread praise for its unique stylistic approach, captivating both ambient and experimental music audiences alike.

A heavy sense of melancholy runs through the Bersarin Quartett sonic core, which Bücker confirms is indeed a big part of the project. The Quartett's most recent release, Systeme, also released on Denovali, marks its fifth release. It is described as probably the artist’s most intimate and focused sonic narrative. 

In this album, melancholy mixed with a sense of distorted alienation or strangeness is described as something that, while it still sounds popularly symphonic here and there, many soundscapes have an observing, almost unmasking effect. Microtonal shifts, polyrhythmic structures, tempo fluctuations, and sound aesthetics torn out of context create a fragile, unpredictable foundation.

The mix he has prepared for us, he mentions, combines many film scores, gaming, and ambient tracks that really impressed and inspired him: First, I sorted the individual tracks by key so they could be mixed together appropriately. Here and there, this even creates completely new soundscapes beyond the original. To present my current album a little more closely, I have interwoven four new Bersarin Quartett tracks!

Oh Man! My drone is like a tumultuous river and you can't see no more "slowly emerging" than a head here or a leg there, until the team roughly lands on the shore, and of course they're not much talkitive after such a ride.
I turned my sequencer into an 8-track MIDI looper and started with a precise idea in mind. As time flies, I had a tool ready and no music recorded -I was waiting for Disquiet to give it a more precise destination. Thursday night disquiet was yet very quiet, so my unprecise view had time to develop, and  when my favorite drug arrived in the mail next day, I just sat  there listening to what I had, making plans for the future. 
As I had been working on what was to become the second part, I wanted to extract the drone from it. I chosed the most remarkable sound (two high marimba notes) and worked from there. The rest is history.
