Weekly Movie Workshops with David Hoffmeister

The Light Of Truth is an album of a deep healing journey. All the songs came to me unexpectedly within a few weeks in May 2020 - except the title song The Light Of Truth which came to me about a year ago. I was told that this album would come when the time was right, and that it was to be named The Light Of Truth.

These weeks of receiving the songs were a huge inner journey of releasing false beliefs and going through a very deep healing. The healing of my mind that happened during the completion of this album cannot be described in words. Only God knows what it took to complete it. Many times I said to myself that this album was going to be the death of me. It became a huge unwinding from the ego, so yes, an ego death happened.

My prayer is that this album will be a beautiful inner journey and healing of the mind for everyone who feels guided to listen to it, and also an inspiration to see that there are no limits when we give our lives over to God to be guided.

“Once you accept His plan as the one function that you would fulfill, there will be nothing else the Holy Spirit will not arrange for you without your effort. He will go before you making straight your path, and leaving in your way no stones to trip on, and no obstacles to bar your way. Nothing you need will be denied you. Not one seeming difficulty but will melt away before you reach it. You need take thought for nothing, careless of everything except the only purpose that you would fulfill”.

To strengthen my inner listening, I was guided to totally merge with this assignment and do everything with prayer, guidance, and pure collaboration with Spirit. No other persons were involved in the process. All recordings were done in a closet. All the composed music was made with guidance as well as the mixing and the mastering of the album. The cover was given to me in a vision and the artwork was made by my beautiful friend Ana Paola Urrejola. 

I am not a trained singer-songwriter, nor a composer or educated in mixing and mastering music. I live my life purely on prayer and listening and following Spirit.
The album The Light Of Truth is a gift to the whole world to support the Awakening to the Love of God.

It's no small state of mind to look at the world and have a big smile on your face and a burst of gentle laughter and go hmm, Much Ado About Nothing. That would include all events in time and space, all the wars, all the diseases, all the hurricanes and tsunamis and plagues, and viruses. All the big stuff, let's throw them all in there. And all the seemingly good things as well, all the tulips, all the hummingbirds, let's take them all. And, Lord, I would rather have the vision of Christ than see a hummingbird. I would rather have a vision of Christ than leave my attention on perceptions of form. I would rather know my eternal home, everlasting life, than the things of form.

Opening Session - Place the Future in the Hands of God Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu

When you put your future in the hands of God and begin to live by inner guidance in the present moment, it can feel quite foolish at the beginning because our past conditioning is hammering harshly away at us. "What do you think you are? This is ridiculous, and you're throwing your whole life away for God, the great question mark the ego says. 

The ego won't even admit that there is a God, and if it has to admit that there is a God, it's a punishing God. It throws a fake God in there. So it's pretty interesting now we're going into this Place the Future in the Hands of God Retreat, that we need each other to reflect miracles. We're mighty companions to one another. We're witnesses to one another's miracles and how God is helping us. 

The Holy Spirit's presence is a burning, intense calling to wake us up, and we only have to join our little willingness to this burning, intense calling to wake up, and that will ignite the whole thing; that's what's sends the whole thing off into an actual experience.

Deepening my core desire and calling for God is very precious because when your heart gets focused on God, on waking up to God, on forgiving all things that block the remembrance of God's love, you end up with a feeling of being uplifted, a feeling of enormous gratitude and of being blessed. You know, no matter what, we can't even judge what is good and what's bad because all our judgments are based on perception. That is such a profound, universal lesson, which says. No, only in God, can we find true peace. 

When Jesus says, "What do you want freedom of the body or freedom of the mind for both you cannot have and whichever you choose, the other will have to serve." So if we choose the freedom of the body the mind will have to serve to find how to get freedom for the body and as Jesus describes it, in that process, the mind becomes extremely mad. The only true service is to use the body to serve the freedom of the mind, which means that we place our future in the hands of God.

Consistent happiness is no small topic at all. When Jesus says, "Dream softly of your sinless brother, dream of his kindnesses rather than the hurts he gave," he's always pointing us to the mind as to where the happiness originates. God created you as Spirit, and your happiness radiates out to everything and everyone. When you're happy, the whole world is happy. When you're not happy, you're not seeing a happy world. You may label some outcomes and events as happy, but you won't be consistently happy. It's impossible with judgment in mind.

Before you come to a state of consistent happiness, you seem to go through a dismantling. It's a dismantling of the self-concept, the image you believe you are, and the image you think the world is. Some of you may say it's quite a big thing to let go of this personality, including letting go of your belief in external wars, famine, external countries, and politicians. You have to let go of your belief in external stars, quasars, and black holes, and you have to start to realize, Oh my gosh, I'm the dreamer of this dream, and there's nothing outside of me. 

There's nothing that can hurt me and nothing that can harm me. To go through this dismantling, all you have to do is follow the guidance of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It's straightforward. It's not a complicated thing, even though the Ego will try to make it cumbersome and will try to say but but but. But the truth is simple. And today's movie will take us from the paralysis of analysis into the glee of the present moment.

You cannot wake yourself, but you can allow yourself to be awakened. That's a big one. You cannot wake yourself means the personality self doesn't have a contribution to make. The only contribution you have to make is your willingness in your mind. When you're willing to heal false and distorted perceptions and join with the might and the glory of the Holy Spirit's great willingness, or we could say, it's the capability for healing, which is its function in healing. When your little willingness joins with that capability for healing, healing is ignited. The problems come in when the personality self tries to take responsibility for itself as a body as a person through its own learning.

There's no learning in heaven. God created you perfect. The spirit doesn't learn. So when we think about the Holy Instant, the Holy Instant is not learned. So we're entering into a whole different realm than human beings have ever known because all humans have ever known is the past repeating itself day after day. The ego has programmed us, and you may believe you have free will in this world, but that's all a projection from the unconscious mind. So if you sometimes feel like a robot, like you're just doing the same things repeatedly, it's because the ego invented time and space.

You see, we are brought up with a curriculum in judgment. If you go to school, you're learning a curriculum in judgment; even before you go to school, your parents and your siblings teach you a curriculum in judgment. Don't do this. Treat people this way. You know, it's full of judgments, and then we reach a point where we would rather pray, listen and follow the Spirit than judge, react and respond to the ego. Do you see the difference between those two modalities in the mind? That's what we're going for today.

I want that resume out of your mind now because I will teach you how to live in the given. 

I will teach you that I'll provide everything you need if you shine your light. If you'll just let me speak, laugh and smile through you and be happy. You don't have to learn and figure out what to do; that's the human problem. We have conflicting ideas from the past. Nobody agrees on anything. And then, we are supposed to make our life decisions based on our past learning. It doesn't work. You know, it's a trick. But if we make our way and let present trust lead the way, then what an adventure. Then you're on an adventure.

My Spirit-given Function with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu

In the work with A Course in Miracles you start to realize it's more about undoing than doing. It's more about emptying the mind of everything you think you think and think you know and everything you believe is true. It's like all the Mystics and Saints of all the centuries have told us. Empty your mind and you will know the truth. It's very simple. And with this topic of My Spirit-given function, we can say that, in order to know the function that God gave you, and God gave you eternity, then you will have to unlearn a lot. 

Function in this world is associated with form and also associated with the body. And I can tell you that that has to be forgotten. We have to unlearn all of that, in order to live in the truth, because this world was made as a veil to keep us from knowing the truth.

Jesus used parables to teach the masses. Similarly the Holy Spirit can use movies in an extremely helpful way to teach and help us heal.
For example, The Great Gatsby is a wonderful movie for looking right at the intensity, possessiveness and hatred that are parts of our special "love" relationships. What are we pursuing in this world? In pursuing love in form we go astray. There is no substitute for God's love and it is formless, changeless and eternal. God's love is what you are!

The theme of this movie is trust and communication. David takes us right to the core of the matter stating that we are all on our way out of oblivion. The theme/feelings people felt the most this week was unworthiness and rejection and this movie has it all. Growing up with an abusive father and an absent mother, the main character has locked his real feeling away in the unconscious, but the Spirit has a plan for bringing healing to the mind for everybody involved in his life. The movie has a deep message about forgiveness and it touched a lot of the participant's hearts.

Weekly Online Movie Gathering - Movie "I Can Only Imagine" with David Hoffmeister

Welcome to Living Miracles Weekly Online Movie Gathering with commentary by David Hoffmeister

When the separation from God or fall from Grace seemed to occur, the Holy Spirit was given as the immediate answer to the separation. In response to the Holy Spirits Atonement card, the ego responded with the special relationship card. It had to come up with a real attractive illusion for the mind to be so court up in it that it would forget the Atonement. 

In this world of time and space, the special love relationship have tears become diamonds and blood becomes rubies, but in tonight's movie "The Time Travelers Wife", chunks of time is involuntarily taken out of the special love relationship and transform this extraordinary love story into a love relationship without expectations. Every time an expectation is lifted from our mind its a good thing because that is what forgiveness does. All expectations come from beliefs buried in the unconscious and are associated with time. When time and the eternal are brought together time disappears and only light remains.

Weekly Online Movie Gathering - Movie "The Time Travelers Wife" with David Hoffmeister

Divine Essence has 14 beautiful and heavenly songs, that can bring you into a deep meditation; to the remembrance of Who you truly are. The album is inspired by A Course in Miracles. 

Divine Essence is Svava’s first album that she was guided to make in 2019.
In a meditation, Spirit gave her the title Divine Essence and she was shown the image of the album cover.

Svava is a mystic who has devoted her life to Awakening. In 2016, after searching for the truth for many years, Svava desperately went down on her knees, to pray to God for help. At this time she began studying A Course in Miracles. Through listening to inner guidance, surrendering to a bigger plan, and letting go of everything in her life, Svava began hearing songs within her mind. Not having any specific musical skills or education, she found herself “downloading” beautiful, divine songs, complete with lyrics and harmonies. 

During the last three years Svava has received over 100 songs, but as she says: “I have never tried to write a song, I just hear them in my mind, they come during the day, or I dream the songs at night. I am not a trained singer-songwriter, nor a composer. I live my life purely on prayer and listening and following Spirit”.

The journey back to the dream we dream in secret and the waking up from that dream is done through forgiveness. David reads this part of ACIM about forgiveness and asks us to have this in mind throughout the session: 

What Is Forgiveness?
Forgiveness recognizes what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred. It does not pardon sins and make them real. It sees there was no sin. And in that view are all your sins forgiven. What is sin, except a false idea about God’s Son? Forgiveness merely sees its falsity and therefore lets it go. What then is free to take its place is now the Will of God.

"Beyond the Body" Online Weekend Retreat:  Closing Session with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu

Living Miracles Weekly Online Movie Gathering  commentary by David Hoffmeister to the movie "LUCY"

Who you are is from before time was. Time is a concept made to measure and therefore “give reality” to man’s existence within an illusion. Matter is held together by thought and the belief in (and the need for) a bodily identity.
 
The mind cannot die. The mind is eternal and is beyond the realm of time and space. When awareness of self has expanded beyond a limited bodily identity, time and space are literally in the hands of the miracle-worker.

When the mind is totally focused in the present, and aware of Self, mind wandering ceases. When you know who you are, nothing of this world is wanted or desired, and therefore there is nothing to fear. Nothing can be lost when who you are is everything. This is a complete fearlessness.

In the flow of the Spirit’s purpose, everything is simple and absolutely focused. Convincing and explaining are unnecessary to those joined in purpose because the direction is clear and obvious. It is felt. It is not personal; it just is.

In the end, LUCY just is and so are we after listening to Davids commentary.

"Rocketman" fue la pelicula elegida para la  sesion de cine en línea de esta semana y los comentarios de David se centraron en torno a "Indignidad/inferioridad, ira hacia los demás y miedo al castigo".

Somos creados como seres eternos y compartimos la voluntad de Dios. Nuestra voluntad y la de Dios es la de una felicidad perfecta en la que no haya necesidades ni carencias. Nuestro ser compartido es más como una canción y cuando hacemos ídolos de lo específico en este mundo perdemos la pista de la canción. Perdemos la pista del amor porque el amor es abstracto y no específico. 

Rocketman es una historia ficticia sobre la vida de Elton John y cómo se perdió en los ídolos como sustituto del amor. Cuando Elton comparte sentimientos de vergüenza sobre cómo hirió a la gente, su santo compañero Bernie no se une a Elton en esa percepción de culpa. Bernie es un símbolo de cómo todos tenemos ese poder de ser los que pueden ver la inocencia, y no comprar o valorar el error. Podemos empezar a usar la memoria, una habilidad desarrollada por el ego, para recordar el momento presente, el instante santo, en lugar de valorar el pasado y el tiempo lineal! 

La reunión de la película se grabó el miércoles 19 de agosto de 2020 en Casa Quantico, Ajijic, México. La traduccion al español fue grababda y tramisitida el Viernes 21 de agosoto de 2020 en Casa Quantico, Ajijic, México.
