behind the smog [disquiet0476]

This Disquiet Junto project was to make a song that would have a specific image as an album cover.  I set the image as my desktop and got my analog polysynth set up and just messed around until I found a chord progression that felt right.  Then I worked fairly hard for 3 days to make it feel like a full song.  
This is actually the first song I've finished with my new DAW (bitwig) so I learned quite a bit during the process.  Using the modulators to bring effects in and out at random is a lot of fun.  You might hear it on the drums or it might be kind of buried in the mix.  I also played with the time stretch algorithms to create glitchy stuttering for the drums in the break.

Randomized patch on Korg Wavestate, randomly played using Max4live Turing Machine and Ableton's scale. Drums randomly triggered using Turing Machine, Fretless Bass.
