Kentucky on My Mind blends stems from my love of country blues. I wanted to create a song that feels timeless like whiskey aged in oak, smooth, reflective, and deeply rooted in Kentucky tradition. As a bourbon blooded, horse loving Kentucky boy I couldn't help but sharing some of my whiskey aged memories as a nod to my old Kentucky home.

Kentucky on my Mind

Trailerpark Tornado is a country rock anthem about resilience, roots, and rising above struggle. This is more of an autobiography than a song in some ways. Growing up in a tiny town along the Kentucky river. Shout out to Lawrenceburg and my Tyrone peeps. I remember the first time I saw the river flood. There were fields of crops destroyed, trailers, equipment, and farm animals washed away. After Highschool I joined the Navy and now I am blessed to wear my boots in boardroom battles. This track celebrates the fire that comes from humble beginnings. It’s equal parts storytelling and motivation. Always fight your way forward without forgetting where you started.

A Sailor’s Song is a heartfelt song about distance, devotion, and the anchoring of love across miles of ocean. It’s both a love note and a survival song, a promise that love endures even when storms rise and miles divide. As a U.S. Navy Veteran and an Active Duty dependant I know what it is like on both sides of that torturous deployment op cycle. The daily challenges may differ but the struggle is very real on both sides. For all those military, and especially my Blue and Gold Navy folks, my heart goes out to you and I pray for a safe reunion. Fair winds and following seas.

Cells and Dreams is a country blues tune for anyone who has ever been lost in spreadsheets and caffeine while their heart drifts someplace sweeter. It tells the story of my experience as a country-raised data analyst fighting through “Excel hell,” but finding peace in the thought of a loved one. Her laugh by the campfire always balances the strain of long workdays with the warmth of a timeless love.

Step Outside is a country blues anthem about breaking free from the daily grind and chasing something real. I tried to capture create a soulful groove that tells my all-to-common daydream story of leaving routine behind. I want this song to encourage everyone to detach digitally to find courage in the unknown, and rediscover life beyond the walls of the nine-to-five. Based on a true story.

This song was inspired by Ludo's Love me Dead. I love that song! I love the duality of it, the push pull of the love / hate spectrum. I wanted to give a shot at writing and recording a theatrical rock song and this is the outcome! 

I tossed around a lot of ideas and kept coming back to this image of a distraught foodie having a “side of regret,” which eventually (mostly from scribbled notes between meetings at work) became the visual of someone waiting at a restaurant… again. Even though the relationship is torturous, there’s a strange, almost sadistic pleasure that keeps them showing up.

If you have ever experienced that same twisted sense of loyalty to your own heartbreak, enjoy the song. It’s darkly funny, a little tragic, and full of the theater I love in music.

I wanna see some Maths

Noodle Nation started as a challenge from my teenage daughter. She told me, completely straight-faced, to write her a song… about noodles. I asked why noodles, and she just pointed at the bowl of Buldak ramen she was inhaling at the time.

Our family lived in Japan for five years, and noodles became a little piece of home for all of us. Ramen, udon, soba, pho, linguine. If it can be slurped, dipped, twisted, or spun, we’ve probably made it a family ritual at some point. So when she said “bonus points for mentioning Buldak, different kinds of noodles, and all the ways you can eat them- soup, dry, dipping,” the challenge suddenly felt even more fun. Seeing that she collects K-pop albums I figured it was only fitting to try and weave in the k-pop bounce and vibe to the challenge.

This one was not supposed to be a hip-hop song. I originally started writing a rock song that spoke to society and social media fakeness, but it evolved over the last few months into this. Heavy in metaphors and commentary on the prevealance of social media use that has the multitudes seeking external validation that turns cyclical. It is a little bit of a mind f@ck when you really think about it.
