► Professional Experience 

Native of the island of Sicily, Italy David has shared the stage with acclaimed world-renown artists in Europe, Asia and during his years in USA such as Lee Konitz, multi grammy and academy award nominee for Spike Lee soundtracks Terence Blanchard, Patrice Rushen (“Men in black” Ost ), Charlie Mariano (C.Mingus orchestra), vocalist great Sheila Jordan, K.Werner, G.Garzone, L. Stallworth, multi grammy award winner singer Paula Cole, P. Elridge (NY Voices), Lyn Biviano (Count Basie Orchestra), Hal Crook, Giovanni Tommaso ( ‘La Dolce Vita’ tour / 2005 Italian best-sellling Jazz album dedicated to Italian cinema ), D. Di Piazza, S. DI Battista (E. Jones Jazz Machine), F. Boltro (M.Petrucciani), and recently performed as opening act for award winning internationally renown Fusion supergroup Yellowjackets at the 2019 Rheine Jazz Festival, Germany among others.

His clinics and studies include some of the greatest Masters drummers worldwide such as:  Roy Haynes / Jeff Ballard / Elvin Jones / Vinnie Colaiuta / David Garibaldi / Peter Erskine / Jeff T.Watts / Adam Nussbaum / Will Kennedy / Donald Edwards 

He has worked in several published recordings (Cettina Donato quintet, Sade-Bosso quintet Philosophy, Claudio Filippini Trio, Tobias Sudhoff sicilian trio) and keeps a flourishing activity as a performer in New York. 


► Since 2005 has served as Assistant-Professor for Berklee University of Music clinics at Umbria Jazz Festival (one of the majors music festivals worldwide) alongside some of the most influential educators and artists in the field such as Ron Savage (Berklee Performance Major Chair) and Yoron Israel (Chair of Percussion Department). He has worked as Staff faculty assistant accompanist at Berklee University at Boston Conservatory for Vocal and Piano Departments  and as a full-time faculty at Brooklyn school of Music in New York US for the past years working with a range of students from 5 to 70 years old.     

He earned his Master’s Degrees as full-bright scholarship recipient  “Global Jazz” Program majoring in Contemporary Performance and a Master’s in Production Concentration at Berklee University campus Valencia Spain, the only Berklee second satellite in the world, where he’s had the opportunity to concentrate my studies upon European and Middle Eastern-Mediterranean music influences and history on American Music. 

►Education 

David holds a Bachelor’s degree Cum Laude and Dean List from Berklee University of Music in Boston, USA (accredited by the New England Association of Schools among the most recognized Universities in USA and worldwide) with Concentrations in Performance, Music Education and Music Production & Engineering. His teachers at Berklee included awards winning artists and educators such as B. Kilson, O. Hakim, K. Dennard, T. Lynne Carrington, R. Peterson Jr., D. Chambers, J. DeJohnette, Jojo Meyer, D. Weckl, A. Cruz, S.WIlkes, Jonathan Blake, J.Lovano, J.Patitucci, Sean Jones.
He further honored his skills majoring in Jazz Studies at the Conservatory of Ferrara Italy and attending as a Literature and Languages Major at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. David owns a classical piano background in childhood and obtained my Diploma from the ‘ Popular School of Jazz The Brass Group’ in Palermo at a very young age.

David also served as Italian ambassador performing at the Boston State House Chamber hall during the Italian-American heritage month with the project Scanzonati led by Berklee Contemporary Writing&Production chair Andrea Pejrolo, and worked with major artists also in the Boston area ( S.Marchese “Scanzonati”, Les Sampou)

Recently he has been cited on a issue about Berklee University in Valencia on Forbes USA, the world’s most renown magazine for Industry, Communication, Marketing and Economics.
