The is the first piece in a collection called Han. Han is an inherent characteristic of the Korean character. 'Han is a dull lingering ache in the soul. It is a blend of lifelong sorrow and resentment. Hoping and patient but never aggressive - among many other attempts to explain a concept that has no English equivalent' - Wiki. Han is everyday, everywhere. 

Through my music, I try to reach up through it.

Retained For The Defence

Thank you for your comments. It's appreciated. This is the second piece I'd like to share, this time armed with a piano. We can so easily mislead ourselves or mistakenly head in what feels like the right direction. Too much appears to pass through my hands.

You Gave Up On Her

This is the third piece from Han - a present to you on my Birthday. 21 grams - the supposed weight of the soul. Feels heavier. Sonically, the theme has been reworked but the sentiment remains unchanged. I hope you like it.

The fourth piece from Han. I'm enjoying my new home studio close to river meadows. Those meadows have taken a massive hit over the last two months, for a longer time still. Some trees have wrapped themselves around indiscriminate bowling gales. Others have fallen, flood weakening their roots.

Sharing for the first time, the title track of the collection and one of two new pieces that featured on BBC Radio 4's 'Melencolia', alongside 'Untitled'.

This is the second piece from 'Han' used in BBC Radio 4's recent programme 'Melencolia'. The piece is improvised and has no name. Everywhere demands that you call a track something, anything. I was interested in having a live piece for the guitar that changed everytime it was played and so couldn't be called anything.
