To celebrate what they consider to be their strongest year to date, Lifestyle deliver with their first ever Annual release to see off the remarkable year they've had. Lifestyle Annual 2017 features a compilation of the best tracks from the last 12 months, alongside 8 brand new pieces from a range of fresh to existing artists to really top it off.

''After attending this years Boomtown, and meeting up with Volatile Cycle and Barbarix backstage at the Scrap Yard, we got chatting about drum and bass and life and then put in place plans for these lads to get involved with the label. To kick their tenture off, we received an absolute belter from the production quartet that is Volatile Cycle, Barbarix and Blockdodger. It's safe to say 'Manifest' kills it from the outfit that put together the official Boomtown anthem. We're incredibly stoked to have this lot on-board, watch out for more from them soon. 

Next up our German mates Instinkt are back for more on Lifestyle, with a track you'd expect only of this powerhouse duo. 'Conan' is big, bad and schmutzig. Following on and keeping it international, from New Zealand we have the Kiwi's Obeisant and Victim with their first release on the label, providing us with the dangerously large ‘6 Months’. Then to wrap up this sampler, there’s the slick liquid roller 'Born In November' from Slovak and German production trio Humanon, another debut on Lifestyle!

What a year we've had, and we couldn't look to end it on a better note with this annual. Suspect is a young blood from the hometown of Drum & Bass in Spain, Seville.
He stepped into the world of DnB around 2013 with the likes of old school techstep as also actuall neurofunk ala Noisia, Black Sun Empire and State of Mind.
Since 2014 he is producing and said by itself: 
"The big ones from Blackout were the first ones to make me fall in love. 
So that's a sound I always inevitably have in my tunes... those minor melodies that give the music that soul."
3 years ago, he also started djing on underground raves and venues around Seville.

Deep within the shifting sands lay the remains of a once great city, a monument to the hubris of those who had once thought they could conquer the indomitable forces of the planet. To hold back the everpresent encroachment of the dunes they had raised walls of great heights, built upon the sacrifice of those least fortunate among them, those condemned to work beneath the blistering heat of the land. It was through their blood that the city was built, through their blood that the fortunate lived in such an otherwise inhospitable climate. As the death of these sacrifices increased however, they bore new life elsewhere. Their blood, seeping through the cracked desert soil, awakened something long since sealed away.

Fed by their misery, the creature’s power grew beneath the dunes. For each that fell it became stronger, its hunger rising as it tasted more and more that which had been denied to it for so long. Upon the night of the sun’s peak it rose, driven by the heat that still radiated from the earth. It was a malstrom of sand, fire, and bone, an amalgamation of destruction which surged across the landscape. What little life there was in this desolate place was subsumed into its maw, becoming a part of the dynamo which swept towards the city. Its winds battered against the walls, grinding their stones to dust which only furthered the creature’s power. In minutes it had broken through, and as the city was swallowed within the vortex the DUST DEVIL reclaimed for the desert what was its own once again.

MIZO returns to EATBRAIN with the release of DUST DEVIL, a five track EP featuring collaborations with TRILO & CHASER. DOUBLE RUSH features the powerful combination of MIZO & CHASER, as well as the combination of a frantic topline and charging bass which work together to move the track forwards at a rapid pace. DUST DEVIL whips this dynamic energy into a further frenzy as its basses whirl with unrestrained fury atop a devastating drumbeat. While the gradual approach of HORIZON grows to become a steady lock-step rhythm that soars with effortless aptitude over its arpeggiated bassline, MIZO & TRILO’s ARTIFICIAL NOISE takes a different approach as it leaps into the musical melee, bolstered by the power of its roaring synths.The second collaboration with CHASER, CONTACTLESS, closes the EP, its desolate soundscape quickly transformed into a tech filled groove that rides upon its rolling sub and the strange shiftings of its tonal topline synths. Backed by the powerful Eatbrain platform, DUST DEVIL is sure to soar across the sonic landscape for quite some time.

The transmission was tuned expertly, broadcast simultaneously over multiple electromagnetic wavelengths for maximal coverage. Carried within its waves was a code, a message invisible by its very nature since its inception within the minds of its three carnivorous creators. It spread virulently through the unaware population, leaping from cell to cell, being to being, town to town, & city to city with a dancer’s grace. Those who had been exposed knew not that they had, for the transmission lay dormant within their minds. Expertly concealed, it awaited the vibrations of its sister sound, waiting for the waveforms that would set its true purpose in motion.

The second transmission thus came without the subtlety of the first, surging across the landscape in a single sweeping burst. With a lurch and a shudder those affected felt somehow hollow, as though suddenly awakened to a quality that they had not known that they lacked. Anguished and full of sorrow, they suddenly felt compelled to find the transmission’s source. Each driven by the same code, all affected arrived suddenly upon a vast open field, gathering as a flock amidst its grasses. Another transmission rang out, its notes this time sonorous & soothing. At its toll, three great ursine figures seemed to step out of thin air/ Their forms were monstrous and yet those below did not flee, instead standing in awe of what they had seen. To those who stood below the visage before them was divine, wrapt as they were by the TEDDY KILLERZ’s control of the VIBE.

TEDDY KILLERZ return to Eatbrain with the VIBE EP, marking the next chapter in their long standing history of releases on the label with four further ferocious tracks. PUSH THE DUBS struts out of the EP’s opening gate with a focused & minimal atmosphere, which is maintained as even as the sounds within transform into a powerful combination of dark basses and gently gliding pads punctuated by a pulsating siren. BE AFRAID carries a more cinematic atmosphere with its menacing vocal sample, dropping into a maddening mixture of morphing low end frequencies following its titular command. The aptly named BASSLINE focuses on the selfsame element, charting its course upon the path rendered by the track’s roaring bass as it cleaves through the sonic space surrounding it. Finally, VIBE brings with it a decidedly vocal take on the TEDDY KILLERZ sound, giving its introduction over entirely to a vocal hook before smashing out a funk filled groove atop its bouncing four beat rhythm.

Each such point was said to be guarded by a Keeper, unknowable beings from neither side of the threshold who kept watch over all that passed through, their existence proven only by the remains of those deemed unworthy that lay before their lairs. 

For one who possessed apt knowledge of such places, passage through such portals was indeed possible with proper preparation. On rare occasions, when the energies of the earth rested in perfect balance, such portals would appear in the most isolated portions of the world. Those who could foresee this would wait patiently in such places for the day of crossing, preparing themselves for this most unlikely of opportunities. In focused ritual they would etch symbols into the gate’s position, warding them from the Keeper’s wrath. Computerartist, aka Marek Verhovsky is a talented music producer & DJ based in the North Moravian city of Havirov.
The beginning of his musical career dates back to 2008, when he was charmed by the broken beats and dark sounds of the Neurofunk producers SPOR, Noisia, Phace, etc., and began to create his own music.
Since then Marek was the 2010 winner of the Czech Drum & Bass Awards (in the “Talent of the Year” category), and has released his music on multiple labels, (Eatbrain, Dissected Culture, Citrus, Disturbed, and Forbidden Society, to name a few).
In 2015 he remixed Foo Fights (Landscapers) the Remix Ep II for Dissected Culture, alongside Stealth and Human Error. Additionally, in 2016, Marek and his brother in arms, Qo, together started the label Hoofbeats.
We now welcome him back for his second remix with DC.
