DC Fontana, Star Trek's pioneering script editor. has died aged 80. She penned many of the Original Series adventures of Captain KIrk and Mr Spock in the 1960s, like Devil in the Dark. She returned to the show through the Next Generation and DS9 years. 
Dorothy spoke to BBC Radio 4's Today Programme from her home in LA in 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of the show. As you'll hear, she'd lost none of her passion for Star Trek and shows just how pivotal she was in crafting the show's enduring ethos - a positive, hopeful vision of the future. Quite a lady.
