2. Leaves Know

I caught a thought I’d won
Chased it around the sun
But when I’d turned
I’d found it’d gone

I left the forward chair
And laid my spirit bare
To find the taste of
Fresher air

Could I find my peace
Fighting for my dreams
Even if it tears my seams?

I will not lose the sight
The line that separates the wrong
From the right
It seems to me the only loss
Can be in the divide
Between the dark and the light

I caught myself in strife
Living the current life
The ebb and flow
The fall and the grow

I built so they would come
With just a mind for one
Without the thought
I’d know the sort

When did it become
That wars could just be won
By men with pens and convenient friends?

I will not lose the sight
The line that separates the wrong
From the right
It seems to me the only loss

3. Dark & Light

Out with the old
In with the new
Push off the cold
Find light in blue
One step forward
Release the mind
Cut all the cords
All is behind
Empty the wound
Start it all fresh
Exit the womb
Clear all the mess
Breathe in the air
End all the fights
Mend all the wear
Enter the light
