One of my favourite Neil Young songs.  Had a small window of opportunity so, plugged in and recorded this quickly ... settled on the second take even though there are two obvious mistakes.  I wanted to play around with effects in the DAW.  Hope you enjoy it.

An original song written as an entry into the Justin Guitar Community contest, with a summer theme and to use the finger-picking patterns I am learning.  For literary folk, the song is almost a sonnet, just falls short in terms of every line not being written in iambic pentameter.

Turn On Turn Up Turn Off

I produced this instrumental when encouraged by a fellow member of the Justin (Sandercoe) Guitar Community to contribute a Backing Track to our regular guitar improvisation challenge.

The title refers to the name of my electric guitar, christened thus after a couple of comments about the body being reminiscent of a Van Gough painting and the sound he can produce when I "let rip"...I love humbuckers :)

It is intended to be jammed over, so feel free to download, jam and share.  If you do I ask but two things: please just come back here and say you did so in a comment that includes a link to your jam and include a link to this video when you post up yours.

Lastly, I tip my hat to my wife. I shared the guitar part with her and when I said the next thing I'd add was a bass line, she grabbed a bass and starting to jam over the progression.  She came up with some fine licks, which I used to compose the bass line.
