Hasbro could not afford to deliver a third HasLab failure.  

For this year’s Star Wars project, the toy company premiered the Vintage Collection Ghost in July, kicking off a six-week campaign for fans to back the beloved Rebels ship and to bring home the members of the Spectre squadron.

Rogue Fun’s first full day was a Star Wars collector’s dream.

Together, 200 fans and collectors traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia in May of 2024 to attend a once-in-a-lifetime weekend centering around Star Wars and its amazing community.  

Join host David Quinn for an in-depth look at day two of the ROGUE FUN weekend.  

Follow your fellow Star Wars fans as they hike the Kennesaw Mountain, check out the original Muppets at Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts museum, visit the Georgia Aquarium, and stop at local toy and comic shops along the way.

225. John Celestri: The Animator Who Brought BOBA FETT To Life In The 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special

The main event is finally here.  And it’s the pinnacle of one of the greatest Star Wars collectors weekends ever.

In May of 2024, 200 collectors traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia for Rogue Fun, a multi-day Star Wars trip centering on collecting and connecting.

And on Saturday, May the Fourth, the Georgia Alliance hosted a 7-hour ballroom event, featuring dinner, room sales and five incredible Star Wars-themed panel presentations.  

The panels covered the history of Star Wars and the Sears holiday catalogs, two legendary action figure customizers, the artist who introduced Boba Fett to the world in 1978, and Steve Sansweet and the authors of two of the most iconic books about collectibles. 

And the presentations ended with a wildly funny and insightful chat with two former Kenner creatives who worked on the Kenner line and helped design some of the most beloved Star Wars figures and playsets.

The evening concluded with every collector’s dream: an epic room sales event in the ballroom.  From Kenner to Hasbro, and from prototypes and production pieces, the event had enough Star Wars items for sale to fill an entire store!

230: Friends, Finds, Figures, Farewell: The Final Toys For The Ages Expo Weekend In Carlisle, Part 2

After soaring to the stratosphere over the past decade, the legendary Star Wars prototype has returned to earth in 2025.  

A Rocket-Firing Boba Fett, the first version of the figure Kenner created but never released, crossed the million-dollar mark at auction in the summer of 2024.

In December, one hand-painted example sold for $275,000.  Six months later, at a June Goldin auction, a similar variant failed to generate interest, and shockingly ended at just under $104,000.  

This month, a rarer J-slot version, estimated at $200,000, only reached $86,000 at Goldin.

Are these underperforming sales a short-term stumble, or do they point to a longer-term trend among Rocket Fetts and Star Wars collectibles?
