Excited to announce that the recordings of Soulection Radio are now moving to Soundcloud. What better way to transition over with no one other than Mr. Carmack & Mikos Da Gawd. This was definitely an amazing session from start to finish. Joe Kay kicked things off for the first half of the show! He dropped a lot of exclusives and forgotten gems. Mikos Da Gawd dropped a 30+ minute DJ set that consisted of many gems and original productions from the man himself. Mr. Carmack wrapped up the show with an amazing listening session of all of his latest unreleased works. Man, all we gotta say is that Carmack is one of the best in the game right now. Coming off a very successful and eye opening week with Sango's  new North LP, our momentum is respectably at the highest that it has ever been. For this show we had the young and progressive producer Great Dane who is the co-founder of one of the best collectives in LA (Team Supreme) and an artist on Alpha Pup. Joe Kay kicked things off for the first hour & 28 minutes of exclusive material ranging from Mr. Carmack, Kaytranada, Sango, Jo Def, Esta, and many others. Great Dane truly understands our memo when we say, 'NO TIME FOR FILLER TRACKS'. As soon as he hit play constant energy and bass started flowing. He played an exclusive 45 minute set which consisted of all original productions except for two tracks. This won't be the last time you hear from him.

This was one of the funnest sessions that we've had in the past months. Joe Kay started off with some nice deep/melodic tracks from Mr. Carmack, Christoph El Truento, Dirg Gerner, Iamnobodi, Sango, Last Night In Paris, Geode and many more! Joe took it back to the essence with Ginuwine/Timbaland/Dilla classics! DJ Harrison on the other hand who reminds us of Madlib (no really he does)all the way from Virginia threw down a crazy live session with the SP-404 & MPC 1000. Soulection Radio Show #139 w/ DJ Harrison

Coming off a very exciting weekend with the whole Soulection crew. We just played about 4 events in a course of 5 days. We are a bit drained from all the constant shows, but the music is keeping us moving strong. Shouts to Mr. Carmack and The Crosby as well as Delicious Vinyl. We just want to thank Delicious Vinyl for embracing us and giving us a platform. Shouts to Kaytranada and the whole HW&W crew as well. We went to support Kaytranada at his LA show recently and left really inspired by his set.

Had to start this show with a new unreleased gem from Kaytra and play all the classics/unreleased material as usual. Esta finally stopped by to drop an official set and talk about what's next for him. He really impressed us with his house vibes. This man is diverse. Andres also came through and graced us with a heavy hitter set. Spread this if you feel it.

Soulection Radio Show #140 w/ Esta & Andres

This session has so much personality to it musically. Since we are about to do  a massive and rare collaboration with Team Supreme, we thought it would be a good idea to get some of the guys from the TS crew to stop by, drop set, and promote this Tuesday's event (Team Supreme x Soulection Takeover @ The Echo - Tuesday, Aug. 20th). We hit up Colta and he brought Kenny Segal and Elos by to drop sets. All of these guys have so much experience and depth in the LA Beat Culture and beyond. Colta dropped a quick teaser of what's to come for Tuesday's event. Unfortunately, the live recording had some technical difficulties and Kenny/Elos' set couldn't be included! Very unfortunate, however we made sure to fill in their hour with solid selects to try and make up for their great set.

Aside of Colta, Kenny, and Elos, Joe Kay showcased brand new exclusive material from the gifted vocalist Jordan Rakei as well as Lakim who is getting close to featuring his next Soulection release! Soulection Radio Show #141 w/ Colta(Team Supreme)

Still high off Tuesday's Team Supreme x Soulection takeover at The Echo (LA), we had to keep that momentum going by bringing another member on Soulection Radio from Team Supreme who is also co-founder of The Melt. If you never heard of him that is about to change. Kloud is that dude. His style is really diverse with influences of house, r&b, soul, 2-step and bass, blended into one BPM. He made sure to showcase some nice exclusive vibes plus tracks that we have never heard of before.

Joe Kay on the other hand stepped outside of the Soulection circle for a bit and had a great time getting lost in new discoveries from artists such as Silkie, Obey City, DJ Rashad, Hudmo, Ganz + others. Of course like always though, he falls right back into the Soulection vibe and pops up with more unreleased tracks from Soulection's brightest. Spread this if you feel it. It's been an amazing journey of having so many different personalities roll through the station and educate us with their production, selections, knowledge, and experiences. There have been so many guests on Soulection Radio over the past years but no one, we repeat, no one has came in the studio so humble, so low key and just murk the airwaves like starRo did. It's crazy to think that this man has been making music for over 15 years and is barely coming to surface to the world with so much heat. We are just glad he is on our team. He played nothing but original production/edits. Hailing all the way from Tokyo, Japan, starRo is an artist who you will be familiar with starting from this point on. Joe Kay of course opened the show for the first hour & 50 minutes on one turntable (one of the turntable's went out before the show started) playing a bunch of heat that he was holding onto since last week. He made sure to make up for his absence last saturday and play some exclusive Carmack, Atu, Kaytra, Esta, Esgar, Jo Def + some other heavy footwork vibes.

Here we are with our 150th session! Wow, big ups to everyone who tuned in live. We had so many listeners that Kbeach's server's were overloaded. We are so happy that this talented & vibrant woman SOSUPERSAM finally came through the studio. It's been a long time coming and we're happy that you finally get a feel for who she is musically and as a person. Wasn't quite sure what she was gonna play for us, but she showed a great diversity and really brought us back to a place that was very much needed towards the end of her set. Talk about an educational session. Due to all the adversity we went through with this show we had LIKE play music past the last hour and extend all the way for a total of 3 hours & 39 minutes. From the very first minute to the very end we were providing music that you never heard of or forgot about, configuring wires, figuring out audio issues, chopping it up about food, you name it. So much effort went into producing this show. We want to thank our brother LIKE for rolling through and blessing us with a proper DJ set, freestyle over Esta's beat, and talking to us about his experiences growing up and being in Pac Div. This man has traveled the world, played alongside the best in the game, and has also produced for/with the best (Kendrick, The Neptunes, ect). Joe Kay made sure to touch on topics that are very insightful. LIKE will be releasing with us on Soulection so stay tuned! We'll be back next week with Dream Koala and another heavy session for you.

These two artists will be breakthrough artists on Soulection in 2014; guaranteed. We had special guest Dream Koala stop by who is visiting LA for his 1st time all the way from Berlin (current residence but originally from Paris). The young 19 year old threw down a DJ set that included bass and uptempo tribal vibes. In fact, his set was very different from his original production. Dream Koala is very talented and we look forward to see and hear what's to come. Towards the end our good friend Sean O of Sound Waves (KPFK 90.7 FM L.A.) stopped by to promote a very special event going on in L.A. this week. It felt good to return this week after being out last week. We returned with a lot of inspiration, a great music selection, and a lot on our minds. This week's edition of Soulection Radio features our very own J-Louis! As some of you may or may not know, J-Louis produces all his music on the iPhone (Nano Studio App). He even put out a free EP with us in the beginning of the year entitled "Balanced" (http://soulection.bandcamp.com/album/balanced-ep) which was also produced entirely on the iPhone. This 20 year-old from Azusa, CA is really a special guy who we feel is going to be BIG in the near future as long as he stays on track with his progression.

J-Louis played an exclusive set for a little over 30 minutes with all his recent unreleased productions and then chopped it up with us about his musical background (Drummer since he was 8 years-old & played in a Hardcore band & toured when he was 12) and how he purchased a stolen  Macbook Pro (without knowing) to start producing on a computer that was eventually stolen -- forcing him to produce on his iPhone again. What a journey! <i>Joe Kay also made sure to talk about his experience at the Yeezus tour this past Friday and later went into a heavy discussion about rumors of Soulection being part of Free-masonry/Illuminati.</i> Very interesting and informative conversations going on as always.

There won't be a show next Saturday due to the LB State Men's basketball game being streamed on Kbeach during our time slot but we'll still have a selection of music lined up for you to keep you settled. We'll return the following Saturday (12/28) with a special radio session with Kronika, Sasha Marie, and Eden (Ladies Edition). Enjoy.
