Lorestan has been an important part of kasi ethnics land and the history of the music of this region back to the third millennium of BC. From  content point of view, the music of lory consist of various parts Including working songs, season songs, epic, romantic, religious and funereal songs.

One of the tecnical properties of Lorestan music form is simple and compositional rhythmic figures which is so special for this region. Although, melodic schema of the songs resembles to the shoor device but from the point of sounding , tends to the mahour or Rast panjgah system of music.
