Origins

another (actually my first, but then postponed) contribution to the album “despair.” 

humans are fascinated by ghosts, monsters and demons. we even slip into their roles and take on their form to celebrate them #halloween.

isn’t a little bizarre that we celebrate pure fantasies together, while largely ignoring or repressing demons that actually exist? real ghosts, who strike in secret and haunt many more people than one might think, tormenting them unimaginably and sucking all life out of them.

this song is a heartfelt dedication to their victims. people who are often left alone by the community and health systems, who have to experience that nightmares aren’t dreams, and that there is hardly any greater effort than being condemned to mental and physical immobility – sucked dry by a monster that has taken complete control of you and that cannot be easily eliminated with garlic, a crucifix, or mr van helsing. 

I hope that not too much meaning has been lost in the translation of my lyrics, which I struggled with using google and deepl.

Black Florest is a dark journey through melancholy, mystery, and silent beauty. Inspired by deep, immersive atmospheres, the album explores emotional darkness through ethereal guitars, spectral female vocals, and dense layers of ambience.

Each track is a fragment of a world wrapped in mist — a black forest where memories fade, inner ghosts take shape, and the cold dawn uncovers hidden truths. The music blends elements of dark rock, atmospheric doom, and post-gothic textures, creating an introspective and cinematic experience.

The album closes with “The Power of the Sun – God Is Here”, a contrast between shadow and light, showing that even in absolute darkness, there is always a spark of rebirth.

This track is entirely based on a loop of my own sax, played 6 years ago .....;
it felt like the rhythm and feel of this lick was worth it :-)
I created someting completely new out of it with a fresh soprano jam on top :-)
