"Periods of life never really die, the present is simply suspended over the past." The first track to premiere after the 12-year retrospective, possibly the farewell to the fusion-related "expanded beat" idiom. "2016 has had two faces - it has given me unexpected closure and new beginnings. Now my life can move forward."
The track itself features King's signatures on full display: twisted string, synth and bass lines, sections and motifs in metamorphosis, lavish, summery harmonies, and background detail of self-made samples.

So this is what we did. We put a tweet out the day before recording this episode saying "meet us at the podcast studio". 62 people showed up. It was nuts. They asked questions and we answered. Someone even busted a freestyle over an unreleased Illmind beat. Lots and lots of gems here and lots of laughs. We also spoke about Travis Scott's "Astroworld" album and how it's likely to leave a long lasting impact. One of my favorite episodes to date.
