Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the British dj & producer Martyn Hare (Emetic Records).

Martyn Hare is a producer and DJ whose career spans a dark but important time for UK techno, the early 2000s, when the initial wave of innovation had begun to taper off and focus had shifted elsewhere.
Even at its height in the late ‘90s, techno had always been something found around the edges of the more popular mutations of hardcore that took centre stage in UK, but this didn't stop Hare forging his own path. 
Originally releasing on labels like Tronic, Recycled Loops and Potential, Hare forged quick success and just as quickly moved on to found Emetic and Tremors, where his sound truly found its voice. 
After continues success working with the best  techno labels in the business, such as Perc Trax, Earwiggle and Power Vacuum, and with the widespread re-evaluation of UK techno happening for the last few years, Martyn Hare released his fifth studio album, 'Some people never learn' after more than 60 singles on vinyl through his career.
After years operating without hype and without compromise, Martyn Hare continues to be in distinguished company, a seasoned figure amidst a raft of newer names whose experience and dedication to the cause speaks for itself.

For quite some time I have been in the background working on developing my skills and knowledge. I was learning a ton about acoustics, psychoacoustics, immersive audio, mixing and mastering at school.
It's getting essential for me to use these skills because trying to understand physics, auditory perceiving & energy is a great way to implement them in my artistic choices. 

Exhibition Session I was made three years ago after visiting Katharsis. I was very inspired and made something reflecting my vision and feelings into sound. This time I'm enthusiastic about delivering a new Exhibition Session for you to listen to. It's a repertoire where I'm researching dynamics, space and auditory senses.

I'm back! This new Black+Light 008 show/mix, is a post party recording, of the DJ set I played at Sydney underground club The Bunk3r, for the Rivet / Big Ting Recordings crew, on a Thursday night last month. Playing between Matt Lush and Monako B2B N-Va.

The Bunk3r is my favourite club space in Sydney right now. An actual underground club, comfortably cool and dark, minimal red lighting, friendly staff, great vibes, and most importantly a fantastic sounding Funktion One sound system. It was a pleasure to play through it.

I wasn't sure what to expect crowd/vibe wise, being a Thursday night, but it ended up being a whole lot of fun. A decent size crowd of young, up for it, energetic and vocally appreciative, music focused crew, guys and girls ripping it up on the dance floor, many thanks!

I wanted this DJ set to be fun, energetic, quickly flowing, keeping the interest high, with drops and changes, and more on the accessible side of underground techno sounds. Not getting too hard or dark, but keeping a good pace and bottom heavy pressure. I think variety is important too, so there are a range of sounds here, some atmospheric, deeper and melodic moments, and a few rough edges.

Apologies for going M.I.A for the last couple of months, had some issues, all is well now. My previous Black+Light 007 show/mix has been getting some re-plays.

Ryuji Takeuchi (Local Sound Network / LSN, HueHelix) was born in Osaka, and then first contacted with Electronic Music in the early 90s. In the late 90s, he moved to the United States, where he discovered Techno, House and Electro Music.

As soon as he got back, he started to DJ at several locations and eventually learned to produce at the same time. After that, he released on such labels as: LK Rec, Arms, Mastertraxx, FK Rec, SWR, Innervate, I.CNTRL, Impact Mechanics, Silent Steps, GSR, Brood Audio, to name but a few.

In 2011, Ryuji started his own imprint called 'Local Sound Network / LSN' as a platform for new generation of electronic sound which following words can appropriately describe: driving,hypnotic, atmospheric, emotional, groovy, funky... and any other aspects that rock from brain to the dance floor under the following statement:
From local to global...
It exists in order to inspire the world...

Also, Ryuji kicked off another brand new label called 'HueHelix / HHX' as a new platform, which discloses something new,only represented by HueHelix, together with Go Hiyama, Tomohiko Sagae and Kazuya Kawakami, in order to push quality music with global standard from where sun rises.

In 2012, Ryuji launched 'Local Sound Network Digital Solutions / LSNDS' series in need of discovering and introducing wider range of electronic music, aiming at dropping unique audio output while it's hot. David McCann - 51 years young, a veteran of Adelaide and Sydney (Australia) live band, rave, club, electronic music and party scenes. 

Relocated from Adelaide to Sydney in 1995 with Adelaide/Sydney 90s rap, rock, techno, 6 piece live band - Bliss.

100s of live performances across Australia as keyboard player/songwriter, in dance/rock live bands, late 1980s - late 1990s, as hardware based producer, live performer 'DAMC' (rave, hardcore, techno, jungle, drum'n'bass) 1992 - 1998, and as 'TECHiONE' (funky, melodic, hard, tribal, techno) 1998 - 2005.

Bliss - Live band gigs, with/supporting: The Shamen, Regurgitator, Skunkhour, Def-FX, Renegade Funk Train, Insurge, Sound Unlimited Posse, Caligula, D.I.G, SuperGroove, Swoop, Frenzal Rhomb and more.

Various DJ gigs in Sydney 1999 - 2005, and a few in 2008.

2007 - 2016 took a step back from music producing/performing, DJing. Continued regularly attending, supporting Sydney techno/music club nights and events. Traveling and clubbing interstate & overseas in Europe.

One-off retro rave live performances as DAMC in 2013, 2014 and 2016 in Adelaide, at Flash Back II, Ultraworld NYE 2014, and Party With A Purpose II events.

2016 got inspired by new sounds in techno music, new friends, Sydney techno DJ Loveless, and starting doing the digital DJ thing, putting mixes together. Invites to DJ out began.

Monthly Internet radio show: 'Black+Light' on Fnoob Nov 2016 > May 2018,

Passionate about a variety of underground techno music sounds: Deep, dark, atmospheric, brutal, heavy, twisted, minimal, broken, hard, light, beautiful, melodic, hypnotic - all depending on mood.

Loving the industrial, EBM, broken beats, heavy and dark atmospheres in modern techno music right now, still a fan of the rave.

Sydney's restrictive lock out laws for the last 5 years, have crippled our clubbing scene, with many punters, DJs and promoters moving interstate, overseas, or stepping back. A spiral of less people going out, less venues, less club nights, less parties, and less places to play. 

Thankful for those still holding strong, and the underground warehouse scene in Sydney.
