My shot at sounding like James Brown, sorta. As with all these tracks, it's more of a sketch, but it felt cool to play and create the funk contra-rhythms.

A piece in 9/4, an old Korg synth, Roland TD 6 drums, and Fender Precision bass. I discovered some three-note chords by accident that sounded perfect through a little bit of effects, and there you go... from around 2004.

Soothe

Bear with the length of this groove experiment, because when it does get to the melody, it's worth it. A 5/4 groove arrangement of Nature Boy, a classic from quite a ways back.

Some Thunk Funk

Written and recorded in 1987, Ensonic Mirage for all sounds, a slow 5/4 groove. I loved the bell tones on the Mirage, they really wrote the whole song.

Morning Walk Through Tibetan Gardens

Roland TD 6 drums, Fender Squire Strat and Precision Bass, and an old Korg synth. A 5 pulse, had fun with the delay on the drums, loved the sound I found.
