This is a remix of the Nine Inch Nails release "Year Zero" (17.04.2007).Year Zero is a concept album that appears to criticize contemporary policies of the United States government by presenting a dystopian vision of the year 2022. The album is part of a larger Year Zero project which includes a remix album, an alternate reality game, and a potential television or film project. The Year Zero alternate reality game expanded upon the album's fictional storyline by using media such as websites, pre-recorded phone messages, and murals.
I've taken the past two years re-imagining these 16 songs while trying to keep the album's storyline intact. Please download and enjoy!

Ghareeb Mokhles is a song writer and performer from Saudi Arabia. He continues to preserve Arabic Folk music traditions by contextualizing them with modern, pop adjacent sounds and production. This genre, called "Shelat" has inspired me to contribute my own interpretations in the form of extended, bass heavy remixes- and this is the first entry to the forthcoming series. I believe that sincere musical expression crosses language barriers and speaks to the heart, and as such I found the translated lyrics perfectly in line with the emotions I felt upon hearing it for the first time.
