In March of this year we saw Jimpster’s Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP fall on expectant and eager ears, winning praise from the likes of RA, DJ Mag and Groove as well as plays and support from a host of the worlds best radio and club DJ’s. With the majority of the LP being more home listening than club-focused we decided to call in some of our favorite producers to rework a track of their choice for the dance-floors and here we present you the first part of the amazing results.

KiNK needs little introduction of course, except to say that his live set as well as his hands on hardware approach in the studio has seen him become established as one of the most exciting producers of the last couple of years. When he agreed to remix Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (a track he incidentally referred to as his favorite of the year!) we couldn’t have been happier and knew that something very special would come from it. When he got in touch to say he’d done a version but explained it was done live in one take with all the parts being tweaked in real time making it very hard to change anything we were even more intrigued and excited. As expected, what he delivered is an intense, high energy reworking full of piercing high’s and rattling lows, keeping the original chords and many of the keyboard lines in place but injecting a raw drive and improvised feel which has already seen it become a highlight of Jimpster sets this summer.

Andre Lodemann provides the perfect antidote to KiNK’s frenetic version in the form of his Towards The Seer Remix, going for a tight, emotive, late night groove which develops slowly, teasing out the arrangement and keeping things sublime and understated. Subtle bass twists and dubbed out FX build to the extended break where we’re introduced to the original’s acoustic bass riff in all it’s glory. Another brilliant Andre Lodemann production.

It was during a vision-quest to Joshua Tree where Jonnie King and Josh Royse molded their brotherhood through spirituality and music.  Shortly after, Jonnie started working with fellow producer Johnny Reyes to form the early stages of AENOIX.  The two received world-wide support from Lee Burridge on their first record, as well as capturing the mind of Robot Heart's Jason Swamy, who encouraged the buys to record their debut LP at his maiden Further Future festival.  With this, the soundscapes of AEONIX were born.

Diynamic Music's sister label 2DIY4 are announcing the release of a rework by one of their newest additions, Undercatt. The Italian pair recently remixed The Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’, and managed to flip it from a once bright shining pop track into a true underground anthem with a great sense of style. It is a track you will have heard if you were at the Destino Ibiza closing when Solomun finished his set with the piece, to great receptions and big reactions.

Sweet Disposition (Undercatt Remix) is out on December 11th on 2DIY4.

Superfriends is far from a obvious tick in andhim’s career “to do list” but a strong clue that they are capably poised to continue their anti-intellectualism approach to everything they do.

The international colours of andhim continue to reach all corners of the dance floor focusing less on the narrative and more on the big and fun– Superfriends is set to be an outlet for the production/DJ duo’s most ambitious ideas. Alex Barck is known for participating at as many parties as possible simultanously. Now he invites for the very first time in his career to his own and personal bash. To the island La Reunion in the Indian Ocean to be exact. That’s where he settled with his entire family for a whole year since last summer to complete his probably most ambitious work ever: His debut solo album. The fist guest to be received is Pete Josef from Bristol (one half of The White Lamp), who wrote the lyrics for “Re-Set” and lends his voice to it naturally. A voice that suits perfectly Barcks twisted but always highly accessible productions. As a DJ who lives for the dancefloor Barck comes up with a track that make your legs shake and - in the second part - your hands raise. To assign the talents of newcomer Hannes Fischer to do a remix is a clever move. The latest wunderkind of the Berlin techno/house scene has an impressive sensitiveness for nuances like only very few have nowadays. In his rework he squeezes the essence out of “Re- Set” and fills it rich in content into a flacon that spreads somehow the odor of lavender. Until the release of the album “Reunion” there will be further three 12″ coming out of the holiday residence Barck. Stay tuned! In the meantime there still will be DJing in selected locations, work for the project Prommer & Barck (a second album is in the making), A&R managing for Sonar Kollektiv and of course active support of Jazzanova.

The sounds in the original song moved me and had me hooked from the moment I heard the clip on beatport, but the song is only 3.5 minutes short. So I stretched it out over 11 minutes to keep those 'feel good feelings' going even longer! Its a sunrise edit because I want to hear this while the sun is rising!

Since this is an edit of more recent song I cannot make it available for download due to copyright stuff. I only hope that coMa realizes that they have some sweet ear candy here and have someone edit it or remix it proper like Lee Burridge, MattDekay, or the Pachanga Boys... or hey, what if CoMa just made an extended version of the original song that would work too ... say up it to 14 minutes of bliss! :)
