Ambient is about cutting edge, flat structures, encompassing structures, nuturing structures.  Ambient culture is about developing what’s within you.  The main focus is developmental, more than achievement, it’s more process oriented towards spiritual and technological concerns or interests.  It’s an inward thing, but it’s down through technology.  Developing a look with a Macintosh, or developing your sound with certain midi gear, so it isn’t like sitting in a cave playing the shakahatchi or anything.
