Chiaroscuro, a fitting name for an expression of emotions that is difficult to place. The boundary space where the continuum is no longer one thing or another. Shades of grey perhaps…The contrast of light against dark strikes me as an auditory metaphor for life itself. Of the interplay between yin and yang. Major vs minor. There is loss, but there is always hope.

This, I think, is the first song I ever wrote. At the time (sometime between 2012 and 2014), I didn’t have a piano or ever played one; I wrote this piece on my laptop keyboard. It’s the gist of what I’ve been through during my first years after emigration.
