Loaded Barrel (2008)

Commissioned by the amazing Melbourne Trio Golden Fur with funds from Arts Victoria, this eponymous piece features Judith Hamman on Cello, Samuel Dunscombe on Clarinet and James Rushford on Electronic Harmonium. Live recording at the Salon, Melboure Recital Centre in late November 2010.

Part of the development in September 2011 of "Parlour Trick: an electromagnetic peepshow" with Aria Co, Latitude 37 and Ashley Smith. This work was written for Latitude 37 as a show piece which they have subsequently performed and is now part of their repertoire of new works for old instruments. For more on Parlour Tricks - check out Aria Co's sound cloud which features the four songs developed at the Melbourne Recital Centre in September , with words by the amazing Elizabeth Campbell.

David Chisholm is internationally recognized as a composer defined by diverse and hybrid collaboration and a curator and producer of vision and courage. He was composer in residence for Philip Adams’ BalletLab and an Associate Artist for Malthouse Theatre, before becoming the founder and director of the highly acclaimed Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music and its roster ensemble Argonaut. David has been an artist in residencee at HIAP in Helsinki, EMPAC in New York, Centre Intermondes in La Rochelle and Camargo Foundation in Cassis. He was the first Australian composer to be a featured guest of the Encuentro Internacional de Compositores in Santiago, Chile. David was an inaugural recipient of the Victorian Government’s Creator Grants. He holds a PhD from University of Melbourne and is currently Urumatua o te whare o ngā pukōrero pūoro|Head of the School of Music at Waipapa Taumata Rau|University of Auckland, Aotearoa|New Zealand.  A member of SOUNZ and the Australian Music Centre, David is published by Babel Scores, Paris.
