Entrevista a David Clavijo en RADIO PUEBLA

David Clavijo is one of the most interesting exponent of a young generation of musicians oriented to New Age, Ambient and Chillout music. Despite his youth, David already has a remarkable artistic career at the time of composing and producing his music, skillful use of ethnic elements and a very intelligent combination of acoustic sounds, environments and voices from other cultures, synthetic bases and melodies that goes modeling into light and weightless tracks. Proof of all this is the inclusion of his music in a considerable amount of compilations dedicated to his genre, apart from his own discography.

David Clavijo is a Sevillian composer and guitarist player who started creating his own songs being only 16 years old. Shortly after, he had the opportunity to collaborate as a bassist on soundtracks of short films in his native land, Andalusia. Likewise, he has collaborated as a guitarists for artists in the Spanish music scene. It was then when he began to understand that music was giving him a wide range of opportunities.

In his eagerness to meet new places that inspired him for his creations, and looking for the intercultural touch always present in his music, he experienced the pleasure of travelling around amazing places of the Spanish geography such as Granada, Cordoba and Toledo. These cities provided him a great deal of ethnic resources that were given expression, later, in works such us "East Winds" or "African Spirit".

Maybe, the turning point of his career was determined by a trip to the white island of Ibiza, birthplace/cradle of current Chillout and electronic music. Again, moved by the feelings that aroused in him the extraordinary views of places like the magical Es Vedrá, he composed fresh and dynamic tracks as that of the same name of the legendary islet "Es Vedra" or "Sailing In My Dreams". In these tracks we have evident influence of renowned artists such as Mike Oldfield, Enigma, Vangelis, Brian Eno or Jean Michel Jarre.

His music is characterized by being full of warm rhythms and richness of sounds. David is a composer who dares to all musical styles, styles that sail from the most spatial to the most ethnic, without forgetting Chillout and Ambient styles of music.
