Jac Berrocal + David Fenech + Vincent Epplay – Zilveli Villa 

This 7 inch vinyl single is dedicated to the Villa Zilveli, a house by Jean Welz that was built in 1933 for Athanase Zilveli. The house was built on the hillside of the butte Bergeyre, in Paris. Purposefully built by Jean Welz, the two large windows offer remarkable views: the one on the west façade offers an unobstructed view of the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre basilica, while the one on the south side offers a view of the entire height of the Eiffel Tower. This unique heritage was left abandoned for a decade and empty of any occupants, raising the concern of heritage defenders. The writer Virginie Despentes even made it the imaginary squat of one of her characters in her novel Vernon Subutex. An order of dangerousness was issued in 2006 by the Paris City Council. In June 2019, the artist Jean-Paul Goude acquired the villa at auction for 2.2 million euros. In April 2021, faced with the impossibility of restoring the dilapidated building, Jean-Paul Goude announced his intention to destroy it and rebuild it identically. This record is in memory of the original building, which has now been destroyed.

Xing presents the new LP Ehm by Canedicoda and Renato Grieco, seventh release of XONG collection - artist records. The release is on white vinyl, in a limited numbered edition of 150 copies. The collector's edition consists of 15 copies, each accompanied by a screen-printed robe designed and hand-tailored by Canedicoda.

Ehm bypasses the problem of articulation and meaning. Canedicoda and Renato Grieco, both also known under other artistic guises (Ottaven and kNN), are the sound forgers who have combined these spaces of presence and present in a paralyzed intersperse. A composition in the making, sensitive, which almost builds itself. Backgrounds of the environment, silence and noise ferment in a flow of micro-dynamics, moments of intangibility and turning nodes. Ehm is concrete music and tactility of hearing: powder sound. In that sleep cycle where the dream occurs only to be forgotten. In search of a non-narrative, Canedicoda and Renato Grieco propose stasis as will. A two-part suite, whose titles speak for themselves: A): "It is possible that the focus falls on an impalpable matter. I address the body of the volume, as if it could take and not take place at the same time. They are not hairs but teams." and B "Readily exposed to the cold and folded in three moments. A space, a sharp pain shrowded in the air: contact generates rustles. The sound of nothingness, the name we would like to give to void for a moment, rising beard."

Xong is the name of the new collection produced by Xing, a vinyl-only record label of works by both Italian and international personalities linked to the variegated worlds of live performativity. The collection explores a geography of artists who present this sonic field as a platform to expand their staged worlds. "The space of the record" is given focus and amplifies their poetics as both a sonic and physical phenomenon. Xong is a unique project that draws out divergent understandings of the performative and live arts, beyond genre and intersecting between different practices. Xong collects a series of original creations that constitute an expanded program. Each physical record is a numbered edition on white vinyl hosting the solidification of the gesture. A wave upon wave, a series of "Music-Non-Music" to actualize both the artists and listeners imagination.

@texturcph is proud to present The New Old, the first solo album of Nathan L. The New Old is de-composed chamber music on ketamine. The New Old is a performative practice based on improvisation and chance (& ketamine). The New Old is noise. The New Old is not noise. The New Old is an emotional act of transforming, of doing violence to the integrity of the original material as a constructive act of demolition.

The album surfaces from a unique and inordinate working process in which sonic material from various traditional classical instruments are shredded, forced into feedback loops, and mixed with recordings of crashing software, futuristic self-built instruments, and tender
manual processing. 

The New Old is the eighth release on Textur, a non-profit label and music collective rooted in Copenhagen, with an ambition to create a platform for exposure, collaboration, and community among artists outside the commercial music scene. 

Nathan L. is a musician, composer, and visual artist who thrives in uncertainty and finds delight in the entropy of noise. Originally trained in classical flute, jazz composition, and arrangement, L. is now involved in various experimental and genre-breaking contexts spanning improvisation, electronics, installation and performance.

Lerkenfeldt explores minimalist structures with stillness and intensity. Her imaginative process is poetic and precise; distilling new registers in the field of consciousness through electroacoustic composition, like a torchlight in the dark.

Alongside classical instrumentation, she augments abandoned technologies into new hybrid forms through handcraft, digitisation and experimental digital processing. Flickering piano, tape systems and their spatialised distortions unfold in repetitive motifs on With Water Up To Her Knees. In Before They Were Clouds, multi-layered acoustic refractions speculate on atmospheric systems.

With Water Up To Her Knees is produced by Shelter Press in small series cassette single edition and digital with a limited pullout poster and poem by the artist. The work has its world premiere at eminent electronic arts centre The Substation, Melbourne on 24-25 November 2022, with a hybrid performance in collaboration with filmmaker Tristan Jalleh.

Written and recorded on unceded Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung country, Summer 2022.

David Fenech (born in 1969) is a French musician living in Paris. He plays a large variety of instrument and is a skilled guitar player with his own technique. His main instrument is the microphone and his music features whatever he puts under it. His baroque style has been described as ‘a kind of punk musique concrète’...

He has played and recorded with musicians such as Jac Berrocal, Felix Kubin, Jad Fair, Tom Cora, Rhys Chatham, Bérangère Maximin, James Plotkin, Shugo Tokumaru, Ergo Phizmiz, Nurse With Wound, Pierre Bastien and many others. His third solo album will be released this year 2020. His recordings have been published on inPolysons, Sub Rosa, Blackest Ever Black, Wergo, Gagarin Records.
