"THE CALL" DRINK PURPLE

When I sent @Rosindust a very first demo, the piece still didn't have a name. She asked me on WhatsApp "Ok, how do you want me to play it?" and I replied "Nervous, furious like... like.. Wait!" and I sent her a picture of Medusa from the famous painting by Caravaggio. :)
Actually this piece is a kind of playful revenge: her last piece she asked me to play had guitar parts that were difficult for me and when I recorded them I swore revenge to her with a fiendishly complicated piece for 2 violins :) But, as always, she was so brilliant! Medusa - with Rosin dust

I've always wanted to compose hard rock and progressive rock. 
　But it is impossible. Because I can't play the electric guitar. 
　At first it was an ambient song, but over the course of two weeks, I slowly changed it to a heavier sound, added some guitar tones, and finally completed this song. 
　Is it a genre peculiar to Japanese "techno pops"?

80s Idea WIP

Mechanical Monarchy is meant to convey something like the relentless movement of some mechanized society. 
The photo is of a huge cement factory that I took while driving one day and I thought it looked sad in some way. Anyway...



I composed Mechanical Monarchy mainly around a pulsating Minimoog Voyager and the Matrixbrute's sequence. The whole piece is timed to the Akai MPC LIVE, and every instrument used is sequenced therein.  The big horns(?) were from the Polybrute.

I transcribed it myself from a piano book for two guitars, with the rhythm guitar playing the left hand and the lead guitar playing the right hand.  I still enjoy playing the lead part today, but have long since forgotten the rhythm part.

As with all these old tracks, I wish the mix was better.  This is a good example of why you should always record a DI track.  If I had known that back then I could probably fix it now, without having to re-record the whole thing. 

The last part is a little sloppy.  I had been up all night recording and was getting tired.  I kind of rushed it because I just wanted to be done with it.  Looking back I wish I had spent a little extra time to get it right.  Another lesson learned I guess.

My Bio: I was 3 or 4 when I first played with a piano...Then, about twenty years later I came to the sudden realization that what I needed was a huge analog synthesizer. So I bought my first synthesizer and started listening to artists like: Tomita, Vangelis, Yes, Wendy Carlos, Kraftwerk, And of course Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre.
As my musical interests grew, so also did my synthesizer collection. 
I like to make the sounds I use...drums are an exception...sometimes.
