Arana honed his musical ear composing on classical guitar and playing in rock bands as a teen in California. After moving to NYC for law school, he fell in love with dance music, taught himself to DJ as he juggled life as a corporate lawyer, and then launched his first Wobble parties in 2004 which ran until 2016. 

Using a 3-channel setup and an active mixing style, Arana's sets frequently push into live-remix terrain through looping, layering and fader cuts, with sometimes surprising movements between bright/uplifting and dark/dirty extremes. Whatever labels are attached to his style, Arana has an uncanny ability to hear the harmonic, rhythmic and melodic elements which inspire authentic movement and feeling on the dance floor.

We raised funds, made music and danced for all the right reasons. We will start to upload a few of the creations made. First up Dauw & Schemering. Two DJs close to our hearts created this beautiful set in Antwerp

For the first of their Livestream series the Hot Situations crew requested a special Chill Out sunset set... "but not too chilled out... maybe spicy it up here and there, give it some groove..." Ha!

We also collected funds to help first healthcare responders of the Covid-19 crisis in NYC.

These connections go beyond just the ones in our immediate midst, as the ones that are forged in dusty places are also incredibly hard to shake.

Sobhan’s sounds are influenced by his musical roots and upbringing, embracing the nomadic sounds from around the world and expressing them within a modern context, creating fusions which can transcend time and place. Raised in a family with a multicultural background and diverse musical influences, Sobhan was exposed to different genres from an early age, ranging from Rock and Blues to Reggae, Spanish, French, Indian, classical and Persian music. So far, he has releases on labels such as Monada Project, Kosa Records, Ready Mix Records, and Art Vibes Music which gathered amazing support by the likes of Ali Farahani, Kora, Niki Sadeki, Be Svendsen, Maga, Amine K, BiG AL, Savvas, George X to name a few.
