I was sitting around creating new presets for the Tone Master Pro and came up with a few for getting those rack style sounds from the 80s. When programming those sounds I came up with a few musical ideas that I distilled into this tune. But it's rather a collage of musical ideas than a tune in the traditional sense.

About All That

I've always admired Larry Carlton and according to others that has influenced both my composing and my playing.
This track was an effort to write a tune where I decided to focus a lot on chord tones both for the melody and the solo.

Living With A Memory

I had this tune up as a demo before.  We've put a little more time into it, thought I'd update it to where it is now, rough mix.  Elliott James put some percussion down, purty sweet.  Work in progress.  I think it'll drive hard once Elliott does the mix!

Axis Bold as Z is a continuation on the theme (earlier established here)  of sampling rappers (a.k.a. JayZ) and attempting to mash it into jazz.

This is my first tune of 2011 and appropriately titled 1-1-11.  This tune is a mashup of guitar tones, altered guitar samples, Ableton Live and musical genres.  All the electronic sounds began life as guitar.

The vibe and imagery here is this - your sitting at a front row table stage left at Yoshi's in Oakland eating sushi, drinking sake, and watching an amazing band....

For the gear heads... this was a D'Prego Tele (borrowed) --&gt; my Bludotone Ojai --&gt; lots of overdubs --&gt; touch of reverb and delay.Lots of production (another marathon mix)and sound design and mashing.....
