Cerebral Rain

David James Riley follows his debut EP 'Riley' with 'Mirror Man', in which he delivers heartfelt and personal songs in a stripped back acoustic style. Echoes of sixties and seventies singer-songwriters and traditional blues combine with modern indie-folk through insightful lyrics and catchy melody. Minimal production allows David's earnest vocals to shine through and compliment his acoustic guitar picking style on songs such as 'Lover's Hand' and 'The Rise, Fall and Desperate Call', and to capture the rawness of 'Another Beer Blues'.

I started gigging in 2013 playing mostly solo acoustic material, and recorded a unique cover of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill' as a winner of Yellow Arch Studio's Hidden Talent Showcase for Cavendish Cancer Care (available on iTunes). My debut EP includes 5 distinct songs encompassing a wide range of styles and influences, from rock ('A Chance To Strike', 'Know I do') through west-coast folk ('These Four Walls'), Americana ('Tom Dooley') and stripped back acoustic ('Blood On The Blade').
